some questions... why most professionals like JUNO 106? isnt it a bit old now
.. other question - if you would recommend juno and i know theres like 20 plugins out there emulating but the cheapest hardware JUNO?

and finally.. if you have one juno synth.. why exactly do you use it? (pads, leads, basses?)

the juno sounds good, has midi (unlike others before it), is straightforward (and therefore a good beginner synth (was my first)), is polyphonic, and way back in the day was cheap. its pads are great and unison mode can get gritty. the sound mine made when its chips started to die is still my favorite synth sound ever, but unfortunately the chips finished dying so it is forever lost

now that it is not cheap and there are a lot of competing options it is a less great choice. if you like how it sounds the deepmind was created as an improved version, or there are tons and tons of other cheapish polys

I love Junos because of their vibe (a little less agressive than Jupiter), you can craft a whole lot of tones and polyphonic synths are a charming way to synthesize melodic instruments. The chorus is the star of the show, there are hundreds of plugins emulating just the chorus section.

I do the whole kitchen with Juno: Keys, Leads, Arps and in a more rare situation, pads and basses. I prefer Jupiter for basses and will use something else for pads.
