the better reason to donate is that tracker sites are still very busy and bandwidth consuming. I'm not sure how many members donate, but it is a good number for sure. it doesn't mean you can't seed still, but you don't get any credit for it either. Unless you set an upload cap in your client, you end up uploading back to any torrent while it is downloading, but the speeds there keep that a low amount. It really just means you do not have to be concerned with ratio statistics.

Nobody using a premium service is "paying to use" anything. They are paying for high speed bandwidth, uptime, and convenience. Users can get their files from every one of these sites using a free option.

The full Nexus 4 torrent on the Comrade Tracker is 190gb. That is the easiest way to install everything up to N5, which is maybe 50gb more or so, and that is everything released since they stopped making N4 labelled content available. While that almost 200gb N4 torrent took 3 days from RU site, the same torrent downloaded by using just the magnet link to Real-Debrid servers and then via https from them took 16 hours. And that is without ever connecting to any peers, or reporting statistics to the tracker for anything more than grabbing the magnet link.

 

Yeah rapid and nitro are inadequate for large files in particular, so often it is quicker to wait for appstorrent.ru to upload them to mediafire a couple of days later!
