Mine went silent. Tried a clean install, quadruple check file location selections.

    Sounds are loading without error.

No sound comes out of the VST or standalone.

Plan Z - remove all Rapture referenced in REGEDIT and appdata. Reinstall.

Motherfucker did the trick. One of the registry entries or appdata things was fucking up my life.GOD DAMN

After deleting those things and reinstalling I have sound again. No other changes.

Once you install your program locations initially (Rapture Pro 2 R2R), your somehow fucked and married to them.

Delete those things I did, and reinstall and the re-register using the R2R tool. Seems to be a fix.

During install, my program locations dialog was greyed, but my sample data dialog was controllable....

Has anyone ever gotten Francesco's (free) Muz3um for Rapture running on Rapture Pro 2? I am at a point it appears in the VSTi but I don't think it's pointing correctly to the source audio files or else they're not there at all, wherever 'there' should be.

    EDIT

It's been a long hard road out of hell but I think I got it. I know I did.

Some flac sfx and wav was being installed to a Program Files\Cakewalk area, but Rapture Pro is looking where I specified in the install process.

    EDIT

These are where I specified during Rapture Pro 2 install (the only time you have control is in that moment)

The txt files are comments for me.

    None of this is documented!

If anyone cares, Rapture Pro can play Dimension, Dimension Pro, and Rapture 1 sounds. Accidentally, I've discovered the E-MU Proteus Pack on the archive for Dimension Pro. Tested working in Rapture Pro. I checked a little and it's not straight sample playback, sometimes they use Rapture Pro processing. Tube, Filter, "Soft", Reverb that I have seen so far. EDIT I just saw one that uses Rapture Pro's Decimate.

Admins slow me down as needed. My possible Asperger's or OCD is full tilt.

Every day I am learning about Cakewalk Rapture Pro 2. The big thing to me, is it is damn tight. Well written and fast. Doesn't crash unless you fukked up where you put your files. That's been SOLVED.

It seems like a Kontakt alternative. But much cleaner and tighter. You wont have the quantity of samples and instruments of Kontakt, but the quality is there, and there's still too much to use. And there are oddities.

There's a 3rd party Pack called Fr4ncesco's Muz3um. Terribly useful. I dug it out of the archive. Waveforms of the best analog hardware.

    The creator:

    Hello all,

after 6 months of work, Muz3um for Rapture is released.

Muz3um is a collection of new presets for Cakewalk Rapture, built on waveforms from vintage synthesizers.
It features also the use of convolution with impulse responses taken from amp sims, cabinets and lo-fi speakers, providing additional colors to the set.

Programming these patches, the goal was to provide playable sounds, with particular attention to all that could make them as alive as possible, featuring extensive use of modulation and human interaction as well (modwheel, aftertouch, velocity...).

I had a lot of fun creating this set. I hope you'll have the same fun using it.

    A few numbers:

    - 661 presets organized in categories: Basses, Keys, Leads, Pads, Sequences
    - 573 waveforms
    - 36 impulse responses

    thanks to the following people:

    - all who provided the sample material (some of them even when this project was a collection for z3ta+): hollowsun.com, analoguesamples.com, john from ruskeys.net, chad from patcharena.com, antonio from autodafe.net, rory from rozzer.net

    - Tom Brockway (B Rock): you were the first one here to know about this project, you were the first one to give me encouragement and support. And thanks a lot for your endless list of tutorial and tricks (of course, heavily used here)

    - Paul Fogarty (aka Fog): for your incredible attention to detail, patience and suggestions during the final phase of this project. Thanks man, you were a huge help for me

    - Chad Beckwith: for the installers (a real pro work) and your enthusiasm during all these months.

    - René Ceballos: we all know why, you were the one who made all this possible

    regards
    Francesco

make sure you do it as Admin

    And thanks for this.
I may even load up my old Rapture for it.
I spent more time with Dimension Pro tweaking stuff but Rapture was a great upgrade

Irrelevant. It may be a couple of MICROseconds. Considering disk access speeds it is irrelevant.
