    Hi all,

I've been working the past few months on a project that's very near and dear to my heart. Some of you may already know I'm mainly a DnB producer out of Barcelona who's been self-releasing music over the past couple of years. What you may not know is that I've been producing music for almost 30 years and for a large portion of that time, I struggled to finish it.

    That's actually why I'm posting.

I've started a passion project to help other producers who struggle with finishing and releasing music through coaching sessions, with the goal of getting that music out into the world on a label. I've been working closely with a good friend of mine over the past several months who has been instrumental in helping me flesh out the process as well as providing input.

I'm now currently looking to onboard two additional producers to help fine tune and work with directly through the process. This is an open invite to producers of any genre, so long as the work you put forth is music only you have produced.

What I'm looking for are producers who are technically capable but have genuinely struggled to finish and release their music. I need people who are focused and ready to commit. What I'm not looking for are beginners or anyone who's vaguely curious. This is for producers who are willing to show up and do the work.

I have a website that goes into detail not just about my own struggles with finishing music, but how I eventually got through it. If you have time, I'd recommend reading through the articles here first as they explain exactly what kind of producer these sessions are aimed at:

    https://aymat.org/where-to-begin/

For a detailed look at what the sessions actually involve:

    https://aymat.org/coaching/producer-coaching/

The two producers I choose will not be charged for the sessions. My only ask is that you commit to the process fully, give me honest feedback on what works and what doesn't, and provide a short testimonial at the end. I'm also considering documenting parts of the sessions for the site, but only if you're comfortable with it and it's not a requirement.

If this sounds like something you're genuinely interested in, please use the contact form on the site rather than PMing me here:

    https://aymat.org/contact/

Please include as much detail as you can about yourself, your history as a producer, links to your music, and what your goal is.

I'll make a decision within two weeks of posting this. Thank you for taking the time to read through this and I'm looking forward to hearing from you. - aymat

    Hi all,

Just wanted to chime in and say that the two session slots have been filled.

Wasn't expecting such a quick response but would like to thank everyone who took the time to read through the post and that reached out. It gave me a lot to think about. I may open up an additional slot in the near future, and will post again if I do. Thank you!

Congrats @aymat You've put a lot of work and mind into this. Your site looks very professinal and inviting. It's a hard thing to do. Best wishes on this coaching venture. All the best to you.

    cool page!

i am also missing tutorials, which talk about the mindset about coming up with a new idea.
It feels like i have seen or learned so much about the technical side of production over the 2 decades (yeah over 15 years on yt now) ...

It awesome that you want to shine more light on that side of the production.

    good luck :)

Not my intention to hijack the op, but coming up with new ideas stops being an issue after a certain amount of finished tracks (say 200 tracks). It's a body of work that just unlocks the brain into turning any little snippet idea into a full track. It won't make bangers after banger, but there won't be any "writer's block" either. So I'd focus on hitting the high number - Deadmau5 had a technique like take an acapella, write a track around it, remove the acapella, you have an original track. You can copy the rhythm of other known leads (the original melody where all the notes are set C3 for example) and then rewrite a new melody on that old groove. You can lift a melodic loop from a known track or library pack, and then add elements around it; remove it and add more elements of your own. There's a metric ton of ways to kick start a track (all the midi included in all toontrack, nexus also), but especially in electronic dance music the worst place to start is the drums (aside from a basic backbeat). So yeah, push over this initial transition body of work imho.
