Ableton 12.4 beta with Link Audio

    Okay, improved effects are always welcome but that Link Audio thing looks interesting. So it looks like you can stream audio over network between Live and other Ableton things (Push, Move, Note). If it's stable and the latency is tolerable that looks like a great way to jam together.

    But like Link before the SDK will be public so other devs can implement it too. Will this take off? Link is pretty widespread so this might be too eventually.

    yes i saw that!

    Link for working with friends in a collab is crazy feature. (Now you just need producer friends?)

    I really hope we can still keep legacy effects?

    I like these small updates.

    After all this time i still havnt used Ableton Tagging, because Favourites are still faster for me.

    Saving searches is a ncie idea, but it would be better to create your own lists of plugins by drag and drop.
    (Collect all vocal plugins, would require to tag, then search and save this search ... its still useless.)

    My favourite & game changer update is HARDWARE RESYNC wooooow

    If you have external synths you know the pain of weird glitches or sometimes you hold an ARP on your synth and it drifts horribly away from the project tempo/sync
    This is a massive update
    We no longer have weird MIDI clock weirdness or jitters with Ableton
    My setup is moog Messenger, behringer Model D, behringer MS-1
    Sometimes I'm running them at once without any weird sync/MIDI clock issue
    That's a game changer this is a huge win for Ableton over Bitwig
    I can't do this painless hardware syncing in Bitwig

    You know how to get the installers...
    Register on Centercode (you know the rest...vc_runtime_1 still works with betas I'm currently running v12.4b7 Suite)

    Anyone tried this new Midi Mapping for Push?
    What about Controller Banks with these Mapping only one Midi Controller per Knob of Push or can use with Controller Banks

    Possible to map an External Synth whole to the Push Controller with Automation Banks?

    as i read 12.4 now loads mutiple instances of MS Edge WebView because of the new Lessons having videos.
    So another extra 100MB RAM usage even when you dont use the Lessons. It is always opened with Live 12.4.

    Live 12.4 (with Link Audio) is slated to release on Tuesday May 5th.

    There's already implementations for Pure Data, Max/MSP, VCV Rack, and TouchDesigner by Structure Void (Julien Bayle) here: https://github.com/gluon/Void-LinkAudio

    I've not tried the beta yet, but I'm cautiously optimistic about this and can't wait to eventually try this out.

    Still no solution to turn off MS Edge WebView instances, when you dont need the lessons ever.

    Very extited with that one, with the move, being able to control live / record my minilogue xd module during traveling and not to much cables needed, it's a big step !
