Like most of you, I browse the our beloved sister site and see tons of Nebula stuff. Am I missing out here? Seems like Nebula stuff is just as common as sample packs on the front page these days.

Yeah, there's some stuff there most every day but it's hardly with the frequency or deluge of the jag-off sample pack b.s..

Nebula releases (this is all third party stuff not acustica) are funny in the way they work. If you're not used to seeing, for example, an EQ broken into 4-5 instances of the same thing where each instance is a separate frequency band then Nebula is probably not for you. Then there's the quirky or sometimes twitchy user interfaces - here again if you're used to smooth operating knobs and meters Nebula may not be for you. The one unifying factor with most of this stuff is the audio quality coming from most Nebula releases. Sound quality is better than most generic algo or IR plugins due to the process/tech used to capture the hardware.

The multi instance thing can be gotten around by creating single VST's out of all the separate instances of the plugin. The twitchiness and/or quirky operation generally tends to be less of an issue when running the stuff on a more powerful host machine. If you can deal with these factors the positives can outweigh the negatives with regard to the kind of analog qualities these devices can deliver.

It's not for everyone or every mix, but I've found it to sound great. I've been using it extensively lately, especially on the mix bus and mastering. It actually "sounds analog", but you need to learn to use it.

Edit: more like you need to get used to it rather than learning it.

Probably not and probably there will be tons of comments explaining why and they are all right, worst thing one can impose someone is his own taste, preference and actual use case, especially considering we all don't have same hearing, setups and priorities.

Having said that, I have been using them quite a lot lately, found some gem's that work for me and workflow that works for me.
