Artists in DSP - Amorph (Text-to-DSP Plugin) Free

Amorph by Artists in DSP is a Virtual Instrument and a Virtual Effect Audio Plugin for macOS and Windows.
It functions as an Audio Units Plugin and a VST 3 Plugin.

Amorph is the first prompt-driven audio plugin that turns ideas into instruments and effects using AI prompts. No coding required. Just Ask, Compile, and Play.

Stop searching for the right plugin. Just describe it.

You don't need to know how to code. You just need to know what you want to hear.
Need a lush granular reverb? Amorph becomes it.
Need a VHS-style tape distortion? Amorph becomes it.
Need a synth that doesn't exist yet? Amorph becomes it.

    How it Works

Amorph is a vessel for the Cmajor audio language. It allows you to take code generated by LLMs (like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini) and compile it instantly inside your DAW.

ASK: Use the built-in "Copy Prompt" button to ask your favorite AI for a specific sound.
COMPILE: Paste the code into Amorph.
PLAY: Amorph instantly compiles the DSP code and generates a custom UI with knobs for every parameter.

    Walkthrough: {See video at top of page}

    What's Included

You get two separate plugins in the installer:

Amorph Instrument: For generating sounds (Synths, Drones, Noise Generators).
Amorph Effect: For processing audio (Reverbs, Delays, Distortions, Filters).

    Community & Presets

Don't know what to ask? Join our Patch Exchange on Discord. It's a growing library of .amorph files shared by the community.

Download: Grab ready-to-use instruments and effects created by other users.
Remix: Open any patch, tweak the code or prompt, and evolve the sound into something unique.
Share: Upload your own creations and show off your skills and collaborate on projects.

    Join Discord here: https://discord.gg/Hpv9kkGb

    Important: Open Beta Status.

This is a Beta Release (v0.9). We are releasing it to the community to stress-test the engine and explore what's possible.

Expect Bugs: The UI might be quirky.

Safety First: AI-generated DSP code can sometimes be unpredictable. ALWAYS use a Limiter on your Master Channel when compiling new code to protect your ears and speakers.

Offline: Amorph runs entirely offline. It does not connect to the internet.

How big is the plugin? Not sure if it’s ai sloppy or if maybe it could be used to create specific processes like the physical modeling of drum heads and spectral effects?

Oh, hey, I just posted a thread that talks about any AI that might be usable for creating a PlugData plugin. That might be a better way to go, since PlugData is already a robust system that's open source, free, is built on some history (pure:data) and needs far less coding and whatnot. But I'll take a look at amorph. Thanks for the info, PulseWave. Good to know what's out there.

Two or three years ago, when AI was just getting going, they actually had a joke prompt-your-own-synth website. Anyone remember that? And now, it seems real, or at least closer to it.

Would anyone like to vibe-code a FLOSS (Free/Libre/OpenSource) Razor synth knockoff, but on its own (without the Reaktor necessity), with a proper partials selection (as many as your computer can handle, but very well-optimized) and a high-level resynthesis import engine?

Its definitely real. It just takes some patience, time, and claude. Check out what taches built. From having never coded anything to release ready plugin.

This is just one example, there are others out there. Im working on something, but still need a fair amount of time. Im also working with a friend who actually knows programming, so that helps a lot.

If you are using claude code, you can try taches "Get shit Done" - https://github.com/gsd-build/get-shit-done

There is also this, which has the claude version, as well as a version for OpenAI codex. https://github.com/Yeachan-Heo/oh-my-claudecode
