I was just going through my old hard drive and found these three guys. I've never used them, but their names are so familiar. Are there any users here who could give me a brief introduction? Are they still any good these days?

By the way, they are cracked by legends like BEAT, ASSiGN, H2O, AiR.

The graphical interface (GUI) isn't exactly modern, but the sound is fantastic.
Definitely give it a try; there are also many presets available. It's among the best on the market.

VAZ Modular is a VA modular softsynth designed to allow an immediate workflow similar to an analogue modular, but with the additional ability to add and swap around modules on the fly. Over 120 modules are included, covering a broad range of VA features but also digital emulations such as phase modulation and phase distortion oscillators, sample, wavetable and granular timestretch playback. Recent additions include a series of West Coast-style modulators including Slope, Stepped and Smooth.

VAZ was a rather excellent modular system that didn't try to be some existing modular emulation and just charted its own path. I used it and had tons of fun, remember liking the way it sounded and the ease of getting results.

VirSyn synths are complex additive behemoths, prepare to RTFM a lot, but I remember them being nice for making unusual pads and morphing soundscapes. Would place their products in somewhat similar category as Native Absynth.

EnergyXT was a cult "modular plugin host environment" that people raved about at the time. I was using the simpler and very good Xlutop Chainer myself (sadly no longer updated and abandoned now). EnergyXT has some unique features besides lettign you plug plugins into plugins with wires, there's also a neat sequencer system built in, randomization, and more. EnergyXT can be run as a VST too I think, hosting other stuff inside it and save the full thing as a preset if you need to.

By the way, I have got a problem that sometimes happens in Ableton, I can't play with my laptop keyboard after loading and pressing "Show/Hide the Plugin Window", and changing any parameter in the plugin (inside the plugin). I have to go out of the plugin and activate the track (outside the plugin). ???

I used to frequent the Hard House/Trance scene and everyone used to swear by Vaz for Hard Trance supersaw leads back in the day

The new version hasn't changed much from the 2010 version by the look of it (It's now green when it was blue), it's still kind of an eyesore but it did excel for white noisey Trancey leads, 15 years ago

 

Nothing you can't do with Plogue Bidule or DDMF MetaPlugin.

 

You would need more plugins on top of those. Sequencer for starters.

 

Virsyn is still doing new stuff but on iOS. Some of that is great and well worth a try.

 

I used virsyn terra / cube back in the day. For that period of the time, they made some pretty interesting sounds.
Obviously you wouldn't bother with it today, with what's out now.

VAZ i'm not sure, I'm looking at pics of the GUI and it doesnt ring any bells.
EnergyXT - Ive used this before, but stayed with fruityloops at that time
