They already mentioned they're working together with celemony for a solution in an interview with a youtuber recently. Probably ARA 3 or similar major revamp is in development, which will support plugin sandboxing.

    1000% with what @dkny said.

-as unless you have experienced what apple silicon can do, and so so quietly and energy efficient...well...

-the Motorola 68k to PowerPC to Intel x86 and now Apple Silicon happened over 50 years or so. I've got machines in all those iterations on ice should I need them. I've never been bummed out when they got better and what I wanted them to do.

-if devs drag their feet for so long after having been given a roadmap pretty well in advance, I've had no problem finding those that provide the same and usually better. I can live without "sausage factory" or whatever the f if that's what's lost in transition. Growing pains are part of life, and it's always been worth the tradeoff. It's not like windows arm machines are killing it, and if they want to compete (more so on the laptop region), that's gonna be even a bigger nightmare with so many sku's and moving targets etc, and depending on how they deal with emulations of x6, yeah, that's gonna be the same boat as rosetta 1/2, just more problematic. And thermal physics are kind of a thing, being hit hard and fast, and while I'm no expert, I just know that procrastinating or failing to meet certain targets probably indicates some future pain in that regard on those devices. But hey, I know and see modern desktop pc's performing great all the time.. and I wouldn't have the temerity to tell someone what they should be using anymore than what music they should like.

-I also don't remember anything Logic lost in the 32 to 64bit transition myself either. Some things were probably tucked away more (like the Environment and some others), but for reasons that became apparent, and one could always access them. At least iirc. And I've used Logic since Emagic days like v3.... And one could argue that that package represents probably one of the best values in performance to price and lifetime updates last I looked. (with all due respect to Reaper...as they are cool as hell too).

-and I'm not commenting to get into any os war, just reacting to the same tired old tropes brought up. Apple isn't perfect. far from it. And I also will use a Windows/Linux machines (just have generally used Apple's more as historically when I entered my career etc), and I couldn't care less to whatever someone else uses, as cool, if they are doing what they want to do with it, enjoying themselves, enjoy their hw and sw, and are actually making music or whatever other pursuits... all good.

so tl/dr: I don't know why in a thread talking about someone's fears of losing rosetta or whatnot has to bring that kinda noise :trashing:, as I'd imagine your time would be better spent making music or taking a walk outside. :):yes:

This is one kind of thread where you just know it's going to happen. Like 44.1khz vs 192khz threads and the like (catholics vs lutherans, Lebron vs Jordan, stay bald or get a Turkey clinic implant...)

No matter how respectful and useful the OP's question is.

Riiiight... And most certainly no apple user has ever done the same thing on a winOS thread before... pffft..

You know it @Xupito, as it's been the skipping record on every forum since they existed, and it's only on rare occasion I don't gauze over with "whatever" and comment.

To each their own, and I only hope the different paths taken are fine for those taking them. It certainly doesn't matter to me what people use to their end goal, and if they are comfortable with it, and it lives up to, or exceeds expectations, even better.

I tend to use apple silicon of late. shoot me.

I know if I used a pc running windows or linux or other, the same result would occur in open thread if I acted like an ass about it.

(coming to this site for mostly conversation regarding what I am currently using in this niche, I don't spend a load of time on conversations outside my hw/os other than wanting to know what's going on, but in that toe dipping effort I don't remember seeing a ton of apple users going off the rails on that, but I know that my anecdotal sample set on that is small, so if that's the case, I'd imagine those people are just as annoying or trolling as well. and it bears no weight.)

Everyone can enjoy their tools/friends and there doesn't have to be a culture war about this, especially when most people who have been at this for awhile are pretty much settled or comfortable with what they have. As you said, this isn't maga vs. sane or 44.1 v 96k to Lebron v Jordan... ;))

Only thing that perhaps bothers me like a pebble in my shoe is misinformation or misunderstanding.

We don't need to, you all already do it for us. 5-10 page threads bitching about Winblows every other week.

You guys are like Chevy drivers who go hang out at Ford dealerships about Mac. The mere mention of an operating system which isn't outright garbage fills you with so much ire, it's funny. You can't even run an official version of it without removing half of its bloat and telemetry. "Mickeysoft" ... those are your own words and that is obviously not some term of endearment. It means you should take your OS back to accounting. :)

All you end up with out of the interaction is going on ignore anyway. No Mac user has ever read your complaints about MacOS, Macs, or Apple and has ever said "I'm going to switch to Windows" because of your troll level comments. You are wasting your time.

Windows needs to be bitched about my friend - just as appleOS does, etc... If all these things worked like they were supposed and these corporate hags actually respected end users and their needs/privacy there would be no need for any threads like these...:dunno:

Say WHAT??? I go back on my word. YOU TRAITOR! :trashing: :winker:
True dat. And there's another thing to consider. Many people debate with their emotions, not with reasoning. It's way more evident in a Lebron vs Jordan debate, but it also applies to technical topics. And it's human.
