Máire Philomena Ní Bhraonáin, born August 4, 1952, in Gaoth Dobhair; died April 13, 2026, in Gaoth Dobhair, was an Irish singer, harpist, and songwriter.

Moya Brennan was the eldest of nine children of Máire (née Dhúgáin), a music teacher, and Leo Brennan, a professional musician. One of her sisters is known by the stage name Enya.

Moya Brennan grew up in County Donegal in northwest Ireland, where the Irish language is still widely spoken. She studied harp, piano, and voice at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin and taught music at Holy Cross College in Falcarragh.

Moya Brennan Brennan was a member of the Irish band Clannad, whose lineup consisted entirely of family members and at times included her sister Enya. After many years with Clannad, Moya released her first solo album, Máire, on Atlantic Records in 1992. Misty Eyed Adventures followed two years later on BMG. In 1995, she sang the ballad You're the One as a duet with Shane MacGowan, the former frontman of The Pogues. Perfect Time was released on Word Records in 1998, followed a year later by Whisper to the Wild Water. This album was nominated for a Grammy Award in the New Age category in 2001.

Her autobiography, The Other Side of the Rainbow, was published in 2000, initially only in English, and later in German under the title Mein Irlands Leben (My Irish Life). From 2003 onward, she went by the name Moya Brennan, as pronunciation misunderstandings frequently arose. Her album *Two Horizons* was released in 2003 by Universal and was nominated for a Grammy Award in the New Age category. In 2005, she released *An Irish Christmas*, an album of Christmas songs. Her 2006 album *Signature* features many songs that reflect Moya Brennan's life story.

She also sang the songs "Miles and Miles" and "Falling" for the music project Schiller. These tracks appeared on the 2005 studio album *Tag und Nacht* (tracks 6 and 13), and she also performed them live with Schiller.

In 2004, she collaborated with Hans Zimmer on the music for the American film *King Arthur*. On August 20, 2005, Brennan appeared alongside Pope Benedict XVI at World Youth Day in Cologne during the vigil prayer service, speaking to an audience of millions. She also served as an ambassador for the Christoffel Blind Mission.

Furthermore, she was involved with the Christoffel Blind Mission. Moya Brennan was also a member of the musical group "T with the Maggies," which was formed in 2009, along with Tríona and Maighread Ní Dhomhnaill, as well as Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh.

The album *Timeless* (2019), a collaboration with Cormac de Barra, contains seven new songs (five in Irish), two traditional songs, and a cover version of Christine McVie's "Songbird."
