either way as long as you stay with whatever operating system platform is compatible, and don't obsessively hoard latest plugins that won't be cracked, you'd be good to go

 

OK, I got your point, but I have to admit I never had any problem with their releases while I had some troubles with other teams' ones.
I'm talking from my own experience and after all, worship is not my goal. I just recognise what I've experienced after more than 25 years using this warez stuff, because I've never been rich.
Of course, there are some releases that had to be fixed afterwards, but, at least, they do and after all, we cannot complain for something that's been given for free. I admit that the opening question in this thread was pretty dramatic, but if anybody wants to be thankful, let them be. There are two options here: either be a worshipper or be grateful. And, to be honest, I don't see anything wrong in any of them. It's not wrong to be a worshipper of something given for free, at least, in this matter, there are no fanboys who spent hundreds or thousands of, call it dollars, for a determined brand.

Finally, if you want somehting perfect, pay for the legit versions, although you won't always get something perfect.
(I'm still regretting putting money on Arturia's several products, just to give an example...).

The witches are definitely a great team. But they aren't yet the greatest in audio scene history:

1. First and second Syncrosoft dongle emulators: H2O (Cubase SX3 - 2004) - AiR (Cubase 5 - 2009).

2. The latest totally and perfectly defeated iLok releases: audioUTOPIA massive bundle (iLok2 - 2016) Side note: Seventh.Heaven.Professional.v1.3.3.READ.NFO-R2R not properly cracked by R2R (volume fluctuations)... and still no repack like the ones AiR/H2O used to release in case of bad crack.

 

We all make bad purchases sometimes; it's part of life. Be glad you were able to help some French people with their salaries, since you were primarily paying for their labor. Team R2R is like Robin Hood; he stole silver coins from the rich in England and distributed them among the poor. That's why people love R2R—because of this poetic justice.

 

Hi @PulseWave yeah, and I always think I'm doing right even when I'm not happy with the result. I but when I can, I do it just to support who I think deserves it if the product is something I really like and use. I've bought not only arturoa's but some others. When bitwig started, I tried their 1.3 version from quarter site and I loved it so I bought it, back in the year 2016 or so, cannot remember and I've always paid for the update when I had some dough for it.

V.R almost always the fastest, and most complete, with all the presets...
no keygen no fkin etc. Just install.
And Toontrack? Only V.R. They just RULE it.

what i mean is this ...say my computer crashed ..i get a new ssd and go to install my plug ins which i have saved on an off line HD..but i didnt save a team r2r system and r2r have ceased to release ( exist)....all the plugins that rely on discreet keygens i can install fine but all the others that rely on r2r system ..well, i have to find replacements and more than likely these will be different versions and will not replace the missing ones in my DAW.. which, as you know is time consuming and frustrating...this problem probably will not eventuate but one thing in life is certain...things will change...

 

Your considerations for when something crashes are already very good, wise, and forward-thinking.

Buy a second hard drive and back up your important files. Keep the files compressed; otherwise, your antivirus software will corrupt the keygens. A complete backup of your C:/ drive to a second hard drive is also recommended if your hard drive fails:

and check it occasionally. It will show you your hard drives, giving you time to buy a new SSD. Using migration software from Samsung or Crucial, you can then copy your operating system and all your data to the SSD.

Always remember, anything can happen: burst water pipes, theft, fire, viruses, and Trojans! Buy a waterproof fireproof case.

 

Get a mac so you don't have to think about it, because lately the R2R team do not consider mac users anymore.

 

If the above scenario did actually happen...yanno...just redownload the last available R2R system? That file isn't going to magically evaporate from the internet if/when R2R shut their doors.

Howsabout pre-empting your pessimistic imaginary future by downloading it now, and saving it on the off-line HD with all of your other plugs?

Yeah, but let's not forget: We clearly see on the sister site how hard it is to do a proper protection removal.
So putting r2r on a pedestal is just out of admiration of their skills.
Like how I wished I could be a coder with that deep knolege of computer science all my life and that is why I'm like "oh my dark lord, you're my heros!"

 

I mean, they *consider* them, in that they consider them not worth bothering with...
(Unless the Mac binaries don't need to be modified and the PC keygen etc work on the Mac too).

They are other people doing Mac stuff though, so it's fine...

 

R2R have already given advice to deal with this situation, if you like it , buy it. If you need future support that is the only way.

I used to like VR's Arturia because of the lack of activation but after realizing the amount of bloatware on their products i went R2R because i only patch what i want. The only thing i miss from VR is the HUGE amount of presets on the synths. That's really a plus.
