I have everything installed - here is a screenshot and there has been no Hamburg D-274 Steinway released since the influx started on the sister site or on other sites - it is not the concert version or the full version, different Steinway model... Unless someone left it out of the Steinway "Full' version. It could be a bug because VSL says it is their concert model which as screenshot shows, is already there under a different title. In case you may ask, no it does nothing if you click it and the others of course, load.

You have the all the D-274 pianos released to date.

I'm thinking you might have an extra pianocore file for the D-274 in one of the ProgData\VSL sub-folders. Suggest you check the volumes folder and the magic files folder. There should be corresponding pianocore files in each folder. If you see more than one steinway.pianocore file in either/both folder(s), that will likely be culprit.


Addition... just remembered there is a steinwaylight that is part of the Special Edition series. If you put a pianocore file for that in one of the folders but didn't add the content, that could be it.

Must be something else though I have no idea what? I checked both, no duplicates and all of the content files are in the correct location? If you know what the actual name for the hamburg files is/are, that would help locate whether I missed something or what the issue is?

That's what I think as well.

@Somnambulist, check for steinwaylight.pianocore files in either of those folders. The content for that is included in the Studio Special Editions Vol 1.

That's good but the Studio Special editions is not in the Pianos section because it contains the Orch as well as piano? The light is in the R2R dir and in correct content dir so no idea. Is Studio Special editions supposed to be in the C:\ProgramData\VSL\Vienna Synchron Pianos dir instead?

 

The light version of the Steinway D-274 (steinwaylight) runs in the Synchron Piano Player. The rest of the Special Edition content runs in Synchron Player.

Spoiler: Possible fix for your situation...

The following files from the SPE1 pack go in the Synchron Piano Player folder...
...file starting with 'at.co.vsl' and ending in 'pianocore.sysvolume' - goes in the Volumes folder. (1 file)
...file starting with 'at.co.vsl' and ending in 'SYNP' - goes in the R2R folder. (1 file)
...other files ending in 'SYNP' - also go in the R2R folder. (3 files)

The rest of the steinway.light related content - with 05a, 05b, and 05c in the names and ending 'sysvolume'- stay with rest of the SPE1 content.

**I don't have this installed but do have them zipped on an archive drive. Looking at the content, and comparing with what I do have installed, that should work.

Thank you one file only was the culprit, the rest were fine and it was in the Programdata dir. 'at.co.vsl' - amazing the one file caused so much frustration. I appreciate you going out of your way. Again, thanks.

for me as an legit user it does not work due to VEP 8 as the guy does not have cracked iLok just faked the the player to organs and harp .

This is what I get when I try to install and open it the organ player in standalone. I also have Studio One and it doesn't open at all in my daw. I've tried to re-install but nothing works. Can anyone advise what to do?

I've not experienced this issue with any of the VSL players. Hypothetically, this is probably how I would assess/solve it.

1) First thing I would do is check that location for that toolkit file. Based on that msg I would assume it is there; msg inidicates problem 'opening' not a missing file.

If it is there, I would assume the file is corrupt. Skip to step 3.

2) If it's not there I would do a search of ProgramData\VSL\ using that filename, or just the file type (.toolkit). If found, I would move the file to the location specified in that error msg. Run standalone to test. If issue still exists, proceed to step 3.

3) Full uninstall of all Organ Player components. Full uninstall = uninstall via windows Control Panel and then manually cleanup any leftovers relating the organ player.

4) Download a new copy of the player installer and install from that. Before running the player, check to see if that toolkit file is in the specified location. Run standalone version before vst in DAW.

 

Answering 1: The file is there. So I did skip to number 3.

Answering 3: I uninstalled everything, using the windows control panel and cleaned up anything in the program files folder and anything in the Program Data folder if any happens to be there.

4: I've downloaded a new copy and downloaded everything from scratch but still get the same error message.

This is exactly what I do step by step when downloading the player.

1.Open the downloader
2.Press Next and Next again to proceed
3.Then a pop up happens (The Folder: C:\Program Files\VSL already exist. Would you like to install to that folder anyway? - I click YES
4. Select Components (Full Installation) VST2, VST3, and Microsoft Visual - clicked Next
5. VST 2 Location: C:\Prgraom Files\Common Files\VST2 - Clicked Next
6. VST 3 Location: C:\Prgraom Files\Common Files\VST3 - Clicked Next
7. Select Star Menu: Clicked Next
8. Ready to Install: Clicked Install
9. Installs and bring me to the finish button.
10. Opens Organ Player and then I get the error message: Could not open a required component for this software: C:/ProgramData/VSL/Vienna Ensemble Pro/Plugins/Vienna Organ Player.toolkit. Please reinstall software.

About step 3 - despite me deleting this folder, from the program files, this message still comes up. Which is quite strange.
I've also attached a screenshot of the toolkit file in it's folder.
