yes!!! I first started my professional career by stumbling into an internship at an incredible studio that had a beautiful SSL, with floor to ceiling racks of gear. I worked there for 4 or 5 years, and was able to use the room any time it was not in use, which was often. There is nothing like it. We had synths and drum machines patched into Neve and APIs, a vintage Ludwig kit mic'ed with incredible vintage mics, a 1913 Steinway, an amp room with 5 or 6 different setups. Everything always patched in and ready to record. The songwriting and production process just flowed naturally. Songs mixed themselves, a couple tweaks on the console, maybe patch in a compressor or two, some group processing etc. Just an amazing workflow.

I would define myself as a producer but not a player unfortunately as I have zero music theory knowledge.
Producing (creating songs?) is only a hobby for me as I work in the IT field in the "real life".
