Hi, i need to replace the stylus on my technics sl1210mk2.its a stanton 500 cartridge( not the correct name,but u know what i mean)
i was using a copy of the stylus,am i right in saying the copies arent great?
where can i get the original stylus? ebay seems to be full of copies.

the correct part number is Stanton D5107AL Stylus for 500 Broadcast Series Cartridge, unless you find another different spec one. They should come in a clear plastic cube with actual Stanton packaging. You can see the different aftermarket replacements just by price alone, and also seller location in Asia.

I've never used them, always ortofon concordes or ortofon electronics mounted to technics headshells for more weight. You might get a little better sound recording from a nice Stanton, but an original part is going to be somewhere over 50 bucks. Which is fine if you know it's just the stylus....
