To my most unpleasant, but-not-so-surprised realization...FL Studio is not allowing skinning in its latest release and even pop ups a warning when you try to do so. The GUI is horrible and depressing looking. I would like to know from anyone here who has the skills, can this be disabled?

Please advise on how this can be solved. What a stupid fucking idea that something like this would be at the top of their change log list????

Thanks to all of you in advance!

It might just be disabled in the Alpha release?? I'm sure it has a ton to do with the transition to the GUI being totally vector based.

Its a wast of time to try so soon
and even if you made a new skin that worked in fl studio alpha
more than likely it will not work in the full version fl 12.
i like the look of the new mixer there making cant wait to try it out :)

This is not a finished version of the program,
    it's not even a beta version of FL Studio 12. It's a pre-beta,
still under construction, so it's likely to change significantly
prior to release and projects made in it
may not be compatible with the final version.

Well maybe the devs want to stop FL Studio skins-sharing!
Most unofficial GUI (own-made+distributed) designs are not well seen by developers…
……of course this sucks really – that's why i make and distribute Plug-In + Instruments Skins so much!! :bleh: :bleh:
But I cannot make skins for FL Studio.

This is what is so aggravating too. I spent alot of time making the GUI an artistic looking canvas that gave me the eye candy needed to look at my platform and feel like I was actually in a psychedelic atmosphere. When I tried to import my light show (metaphorically speaking) into the new 64bit version of 11...It was rejected and the prison gray GUI does not invoke motivation. Skinning > than barbed wire and quicksand prison guards.

Most user-made skins are ugly anyway, so it's not big deal.

    *no* NO, not all! *no*
You're putting people who make GREAT looking skins together with ugly skin crafting wannabe–Designers.
There are skins around that look FAR BETTER than the factory industrial-grey-shit.

Please show me a good looking and usable skin for FL. Really, I've never seen one.

HI here are the four skins that i use in fl 11 that make it look better,
there free to download from the web and as far as i know
they can be shared like this,
i made one of them so please don't call me a wannabe–Designers
i just don't like fl gray like most people.
ill have a look into fl 64 and see if i can get them working
and if i can ill post how i did it so you can get your own skins working again Stinkaton 7,
back in a day or two.

    remove/or update CheckBoxes.bmp
    remove/or update the config.txt
    remove/or update MixerIcons.png
    remove/or update Mute.png
    remove/or update EETimeDigits.png
    remove/or update TimeArrow.png

make a copy of SetBtn.bmp and rename that copy to SetBtn_Act.bmp
then add it back to the same skin folder.

@ ArticStorm i taught that too but its the new fl 64 bit he/she wants to skin.
