    Hello everyone,
I have a question for the audio pros out there.
For all my delay needs, I pretty much always go with the native ping pong delay from Ableton which I love. However, I can't control the "spread", it's always 100% left, then 100% right, etc... Sometimes I would like it to be a bit more centered or even completely centered.
I don't want to change my delay plugin, I'm just looking for a way to center the sound. Any suggestions ?
    Thanks ! :)

Use Ableton's Utility audio effect after the delay and reduce the width.

    Hello,

Fairly simple to do if you just want to mono the sound which would be effective if the 'Ping Pong Delay' is on a Send bus.

Use the 'Utility' plugin and you'll see a 'Panorama' control. Set this to 0% (it will change to a C) for mono sound or increase it over 100% for more stereo.

As for making the Ping Pong Delay only produce a mono sound, I'm not sure if it's possible. I think it was coded to function like this. Take a look at 'Simple Delay' if you don't want to use the 'Utility' plugin.

[Edit: Guy above edited and changed his post to include the 'Utility' plugin info, didn't post this to be redundant or double post]

I would say the same, but it has already been said.

Another similar option you have in Ableton that can give you a similar effect but IMO gives you more customization options is the Filter Delay Effect.
All you have to do is turn off the L+R input. Now you can control the left and right inputs separately, select the frequencies you want to add delay to, adjust the feedback, pan and volume of each L & R inputs.
    Give it a try!
