Well if it wasn't aimed at me, let me tell you that adding an adverse comment after giving an argument that opposes what someone said would point toward that comment being about that person. Imagine me ending this comment with "Oh, the bumbasses of the world". Now I'm not calling you a dumbass (really), but you see how that would look like on the receiving end, yeah?
And since so many people have fallen to the detriment of short attention spans, I don't consider it good enough to just say "nahh" if I'm claiming that some popular "intellectual" youtubers are in fact crap and someone comes along and innocently claims that people who don't like those youtubers must have short attention spans. My "passionate response" was simply to provide proof. One cannot do those things if one has a short attention span. It's as simple as that.
And just for the sake of it, since it clearly flew under your radar: Learning something in a condensed manner is not the same as learning something through trial and error over a much longer period of time. The former takes much more concentration than the latter, even if the latter might give results that are just as good. That was the point of that part of the comment.

The dude has a point. It can be easy to get caught up in shiny new thing syndrome. I figured out a solution that works for me, in that I deleted a large percentage of my plugins, and use a randomizer to load random plugins as an excuse to keep the rest. Im not talking about my go-to plugins, but all those extra's that you barley use, but think you will use them someday, or are cool / good enough to keep around. Those I have categorized, and launch by random. I need a delay, I load a random delay, a saturator, random saturator and so on. This keeps the creative process, and mixing, fun for me, as I get to play with something other than my go to, it also can give me a result that I wouldn't otherwise have come to.

This program will help me to offset the operation costs of the channel and in turn allow me to rely less on YouTube's incredibly inconsistent monetization options to create the content that I want to create most, without having to worry about if it will be financially 'worth it' to pursue a specific idea.

The 80+ hours that go into a video combined with the thousands of dollars of equipment it takes to make them effectively runs me into the red before I even hit the shiny 'record' button.

Venus Theory is a good lad, and his content is great for people who engage with the philosophical side of creating music, and art in general.

But apparently it ticks off the more technical people, who only want concrete information on how to do stuff, without understanding the underlying ideology.

I think it's a great video, because choice paralysis is a real thing, and a lot of us certainly suffer from it.

 

Choice paralysis has NOTHING to do with freeware or payware.
Collectors collect, that's all.

 

Anyone can make a video, write a book, shoot a film and freely express their opinion, as long as they do not violate applicable law!

In plain English, it is saying "don't hoard" or "de-clutter".

There is a myriad of reasons this philosophy is good for day to day living but that probably would be received better in an 'improving your lifestyle' thread from a psychologist, rather than from someone who works for, or used to work for UVI.

edit: - Alternatively, if he said something like ' my therapist said if I de-clutter my life, being every part of my life, the quality would improve drastically and I did it with my plugins and removed everything I do not use and it worked for me, so I hope this works for some of you".
That type of spool perhaps, might have more impetus.

Sorry I can't.
The Rode Soundfield plugin is the best in class to convert ambisonic to n-channel files.
It does work well with Rodes ambisonic mike, but it's not picky, it eats any ambisonic recordings.
