(ai) summary: too many plugins = bad for productivity.

wow. such epiphany. much big brain moment.

If people stopped wasting their time watching low effort YouTube captain-obvious slopfluencer outpour, they'd also be more productive. Or just delete some more plugins... so you can watch more YT.

Cameron is a brilliant businessman, I do mean it.

No, I'm not about to watch some idiotic screech about this, but I don't delete plugins that I use. The price of tools doesn't enter into equation and has no bearing on their quality.

This guy is obviously a shill for Big Plugin and is probably mounting a campaign against AP Mastering To Destroy Him With This One Stupid Little Trick.

Can't remember how many times I finished watching one of his videos and walked away with a headache and no idea what the video was actually about in the end. Same thing with Veritasium. Overbloated garbage. If you want to teach someone something you do it in small chunks, not 30 minute videos with seemingly no end in sight.

    The next video is titled:

Open the window and free yourself from your laptop!

    Subtitle:
How this impulsive act of throwing your laptop out the window will change your life!

P.S. At the end, we would appreciate a small donation, preferably in Bitcoin, so we can better hide it from the tax authorities!

What a braggart and jackass thinking he's some sort of genius, who thinks he is and knows better than you. Use whatever you like, find easy to use and gets the job done for your project. I only use a few plugins but that is my choice, if you require more it's your choice. If he's so busy and overloaded with projects, why is he walking around a park, or have a YT channel asking for likes, donations and to join his channel and then promoting plugins or gear getting a piece of the profits and/or even join his patreon page. I don't watch this clown's channel, it's a scam from what I hear. I watch old movies on YT or listen to music.

Delete your paid plugins with online activation systems and be creative with free tools outside in the forest with nothing but a solar panel without ever going online anymore except for releasing actual music

Like this guy, always get inspired after watching his videos, maybe because I don't actually follow audio slop and stumble upon this stuff when I'm stuck online, which always get me back to music making. Really dig his philosophical approach, there's no shortage of short span tutorials, but this kind of stuff sometimes is just one needs to get back "in the right" mood/mindset.

    But hey :dunno: :mates:

    - I'm not a kid.
    - I majored in a scientific major and ranked amongst the top of my class, sometimes finishing first, with the bare minimum of effort put outside the class (meaning I soaked in 90% of what got me my grades during the class).
    - I haven't used social media except for very rare and/or specific purposes since 2014, including texting.
    - I learned to use 2 DAWs and 1 NLE video editor strictly by watching good tutorials from groove3 from start to finish (some of which I actually own), the ones that go through the ENTIRE DAW, that is, and taking notes when needed, on top of a few youtube videos.
    - My attention span is so bad that I was able to correct a professor who was a medical doctor on the contents of a drug because she got her degree from a different country and got the names mixed up, BEFORE taking the pharmacology class, i.e, from my own terrible attention span where I notice things left right and center.
    - I invented a cryptography algorithm (not software) with ZERO prior knowledge in cryptography just to see how good of a result I could get on my own. I got a decent result that gets the job done, though I don't claim it wouldn't be broken easily by a computer. I tried it on an Engineer I knew who got a scholarship to Harvard and a Physics major. None even came close, but again, I don't claim it's top quality compared to professionally made algorithms.
I find the current trend of content abhorrent, and unlike you, I realize quite well how these channels are just a different kind of flavor of fast food for the brain. Sorry if that insults you, that wasn't my intent.

These same people who are new to audio production and load up on every free plugin they can find, are the same ones that don't ever learn how to use what they have. It's like why the majority of the people who use Waves don't know what 3/4 of them even do.

Just because there is a video about something doesn't mean you should need to watch it.

Yes, install all of them as you do. Including "freed" ones. All of them. All the garbage you can find.

Completely agree. The same garbage as most of "free plugins".

Well mate... you'll have to keep trying harder than that if you ever plan to understand a Venus Theory/Veritasium video.

I know nothing about you, obviously, other than that semi-funny offhand comment went over your head - I guess this particularly small attempt at obvious forum-based humor didn't really land for you. That's OK, humor is difficult to get across sometimes.

Oh, now you're compelled to justify something about yourself to prove something, even though the comment was not aimed at you personally at all..? O... K...

Once again - a joke not aimed at you, and if anything, it was at *my* expense, as I was communicating a general truism - people (not everybody, and I have no idea whether it applies to you) do seem to have less of an attention span for a range of reasons - with a little joke implying that applies to me (which isn't actually true, but again... joke).

Oh goodness, you're still going on. Well done for learning stuff. Learning stuff is good. I hope you're not expecting me to list out all the stuff I learned over the years. I think it might take a while, because I love learning stuff and think self-improvement is a vitally important part of one's life.

Well done you, thanks for (over) sharing.

I'm not gonna to lie, I'm starting to face palm pretty hard now. Shit - are you expecting me to tell you my life story, and try to demonstrate something about stuff I learned..? I mean I don't think anyone's got time for that - or cares... Or I guess you'd prefer to keep this all about you? Could you go back the beginning, and give us some context. Maybe start with where you were born and your early family life, and we'll pick it up from there..?

Insulted? Well, apart from the "unlike you" bit where you assume to know something about me when you clearly don't, I can assure you I'm just fine.

To be honest I'm quite bemused at your clearly passionate response - I mean, all I said was I quite enjoy some of the Veritasium stuff. They are well made, often cover some interesting topics (some of the maths stuff is a bit over my head, sorry if that makes me a dumbass but I can generally follow along even if I couldn't derive a proof of anything), and I'd rather chuck one of those on while eating my cornflakes (sorry - you got me oversharing now. Damn!) than sit through, eh, the political news, or self-absorbed influencers "reviewing" gear, or something else in this modern media landscape that I *do* actually regard as - what was it - "meaningless fast food for the brain" or other general downers. Or maybe watch something about the current stuff I'm learning. You know, before I get on to my regular work being creative and using the skills I've developed over the years (or if you prefer, sitting on the couch mindlessly consuming daytime tv if that more matches your invented fiction of me.)

But you do you, and I hope you're OK. Sorry that you read my post so wrongly and took something so personally that you had to write all that stuff, when it was not about you at all. I guess that's a similar problem that many other people - they think everything is all about them.
