1000% agreed. I started using this plugin to watch series and movies also, is very obvious when it works but it still makes a great difference, very underrated plugin

 

Kind of tangential, but that's how I ended up settling on mpv for Android for listening to podcasts, audio books, and dramas, despite the rather serious shortcomings of the GUI.

It's the only Android media player I found that supports dynamic levelling and dynamic de-essing.

 

I'm pretty sure that is the original intention of the plugin
