I have installed montage ESP on windows 11 and it is fully operational, either when using presets or additional third party libraries (these were meant for motif XF and the conversion works). But there is one large bank that I have created for my motif XF, it is based on waveforms (multisamples) that I have compiled and it has been saved as an X0A file. Montage ESP converts it without difficulties but none of the resulting performances is audible when I play them. The settings for each performance look correct. I have tried to select or deselect the keyboard for the part, change the receiving channel, and change the levels. I am certain that the waveforms are correctly loaded because, if I engage an arpeggio, it plays the part with the expected sound. But if I do not activate the arpeggio, I do not get any sound. When I play the factory voices contained in the same bank, I do not have any problem.

Has anyone run into similar problems with ESP ?

Unfortunately, that wasn't it. Some of voices in the legit banks for the motif xf that I own also have the same behaviour. Something wrong with the conversion. I have tried to load the sounds in John Melas' waveform editor and save them again but it doesn't change a thing. I will try my luck with chickensys translator. But the fact that the voice can be played by the arpeggiator is very confusing.

I've had similar issue with a lot of XF and XS banks. It's hit and miss,ESP seems to load them but...... Some work, some don't, or load wrong patch names,or make no sound. It would make more sense if it was an internal waveform issue, like say it needed a waveform that was in the XS hardware, but that would be obvious in Melas because it would be red. I think Yamaha just hasn't quite sorted out 3rd party bank compatibility in ESP yet. I'd love to know where it stores the loaded banks also. Haven't found an option to remove one from memory after it's been loaded.

Edit: You mentioned X0A. That would be an XS file. Have you tried in Melas opening the X0A,then in another tab make a new XF bank, then highlight all the data in the XS bank (ctrl +click) and drag to the new XF bank. Any patches with waveforms in red would be internal XS waveforms and wont work in the XF as it has different internal waveforms. If you have no red,try saving the XF bank you just made as X3A and loading that. Not sure if that will help you or not. But that's how I convert an XS bank to XF in Melas. Alternatively Awave works ok sometimes too.

Also this may or may not be useful, but seems relative. https://audiosex.pro/threads/to-yam...-xf-libraries-get-no-sound-out-of-them.69126/
