During an update I have sadly lost most of my "MST_artwork.png" files.
Is there a script that can convert my wallpapers to required 134x66px MST_artwork.png.

i sended you a link with all the NI NKS PAResources in a simple installer.

now if you need a tool to convert any Wallpaper in MST_artwork, the portable library manager does it.
simply seek in :
Kontakt 8 Portable\UserData\NI Resources\image\

it generate fake images, MST_artwork.png & NKS2_hardware_banner.webp from your custom Wallpaper.
it will only works for Kontakt.
as Maschine & Komplete Kontrol use all the files (oso logo, etc...)

What I am noticing on my computer is the folder names within the image folder do not match the generic folder name within the Kontakt interface. Once I change the names of the folders inside the image folder than the proper image art reappears, unless the folder names contain some character that Kontakt does not like. I think this mess up happened when installing Komplete Kontrol. Whats the point of having Komplete Kontrol running with only generic folder icons, right? So I uninstalled Komplete Kontrol to get things cleaned up before reinstalling.

Question - I have a folder inside the image folder called "ashlight 1.0 library", the same named folder "Ashlight 1.0 Library" appears as a generic folder icon with Kontakt. The "ashlight 1.0 library" contains the correct MST_artwork.png, but the generic folder still appears within Kontakt. What might be a solution?

"ashlight 1.0 library" is not good
use only the product name, without version, without library.
"ashlight" only will match with NativeAccess.xml

the previews page in Komplete Kontrol use the MST or OSO logo.png to show the product Name in the top menu
if you keep the full original structure, all will be ok. you can generate full NKS2 products, only the previews samples will miss at this step.

about the product name.meta (ex with ashlight)

</resource>

it is like a database used for images only,
fake products can use <resource version="0.0000.0.0">

the true file used by NI is
C:\Users\Public\Documents\NI Resources\database\pal\pal.meta

the number grow when you add new official products
this database is only used to manage graphics, colors, category, etc...


it is with advanced question that you can learn, curious people are up to discover how it works. it is not related to genre.

Thank you for the tip on how to name the folders. At this point how do I change the folder names? When I do change a folder name inside the image folder, the change is not reflected when opening Kontakt.

My pale.meta file only has this:

</resource>

I got seriously jammed up with Komplete Kontrol v3.4, so I went back down to v3.3.4. Now I am going to stick with KK v2.9.6. Should I be deleting any .db files?
