I'm making a track and sampled these drums (from felix lee - and the parasite speaks) as a kind of place holder, although I pitched them down I feel like they're just too obvious. I've been looking around and trying different ways to get close to the same feel/sound but I can't seem to. I tried Superior Drummer 3, but I don't have many sounds for that, and they sound way too stock and flat even with FX I tried, I also looked at libraries of black beauty snares, and other punk sample packs on Splice etc, but nothing tonally felt like it to me... any ideas on approaching this please?

 

looking at 100gb Superior Drummer expansions is probably way more than you need or want. SD3 will load their Ez Drummer expansions also, just without all the SD3 details. Even Addictive Drums 2 is less storage space than SD3. Kontakt drums libraries are the in-between point from EZX and AD2, but they can be much closer to SD3 expansions without being such massive downloads and storage space.

UVI Drum Replacer could be helpful. I know more people who use it for band applications than for electronic music.
Nomad Factory Drum Tools is an effects plugin that can change the sound of individual drums easily and pretty drastically, usually in a degraded direction. It's not really meant to be an "improver".

Making any software sound like an actual human drummer is anywhere between difficult and impossible. Good luck with that part.
