    Hello.

I'm using windows 11, ableton Live 12 and running several midi devices. My Korg Nano stopped working in Live for some reason so I ran the korg uninstall midi tool and it did not resemble how it usually looks, nothing populating the first page. So the first 3 images are pre and last two are post running it. Little changed. However, Live then stopped seeing any midi devices other than the Nano. They were in device manager but midi-ox also couldn't see them. I tried uninstalling all korg products including uninstall but it was just the same. I ended up doing system restore to get it working again.

I've used korg uninsatll before with no problems. I'm actually not bothered about having the Nano. much prefer to not experience this issue.

Any thoughts on what to do or what's happening would be appreciated.

    Thanks

Hmm usually you need to uninstall enough midi drivers to get korg to be within first 10. Idk why yours are showing as blank/corrupt.

I've had that problem too - but I don't remember how I solved it.
I think I deleted some things, uninstalled, and then it worked again.

The issue you're describing is a very common headache with Korg USB-MIDI devices (like your Nano series) on Windows, especially Windows 10/11. It revolves around how Windows enumerates and assigns MIDI ports/slots in the registry.

Windows maintains a list of MIDI devices in a fixed set of "slots" (midi0 through midi9 being the critical first 10). Korg's older USB-MIDI driver (which many Nano models still rely on or get forced into) only works properly if the Korg device lands in one of those first 10 slots. If too many MIDI devices (or ghost/leftover entries from past connections) fill up those slots, new or reconnected devices get pushed to midi10+, and things break badly.

Completely remove any trace of Korg drivers if you don't need them
Uninstall via Windows Settings → Apps → search for anything "KORG USB-MIDI" or similar and remove.
Run the Korg uninstall utility one more time (if still present) but be careful — if it shows empty again, close it without deleting anything.
Disconnect all MIDI devices, reboot, then check Device Manager with "View → Show hidden devices" enabled. Uninstall any ghost/old Korg/MIDI entries you see.
If issues recur, people often nuke Korg remnants via tools like Revo Uninstaller (free version) for deeper cleanup, but start simple.

That's worked. Thanks for your help. However, I also meant to say my Arturia Beatstep Pro had also stopped being recognised and that's still the case. I had hoped this would resolve it but it's not in device manager, getting an error under usb controllers 'unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed).

    2. BeatStep Pro is a USB class-compliant controller, so at its most basic level it can be connected to any computer with a USB port and used as an input device for various applications. The downloadable MIDI Control Center [p.84] software allows you to define a wide variety of MIDI commands to be transmitted by specific encoders, buttons and pads of the BeatStep Pro. However, BeatStep Pro is so powerful on its own that there may be times when you want to use it without a computer attached! In this case, simply use a standard USB mobile phone charger to power the unit and connect everything else as shown in the following diagrams.

    10. MIDI CONTROL CENTER
The built-in MIDI Control Center manual has general descriptions of the features that are common to all Arturia products. To learn how to access the manual, click this link: Where to find the manual [p.87].

This chapter will cover only the MIDI Control Center features that are unique to the BeatStep Pro.

    10.1. MCC Basics
The MIDI Control Center is an application that allows you to configure the MIDI settings of your BeatStep Pro. It works with most of Arturia’s devices, so if you have an earlier version of the software you’ll want to download the latest version. It will work with those products as well.

    10.1.1. System requirements
 PC: 2 GB RAM; CPU 2 GHz (Windows 7 or higher)
 Mac: 2 GB RAM; CPU 2 GHz (OS X 10.8 or higher)

    10.1.2. Installation and location
After downloading the appropriate MIDI Control Center installer for your computer from the Arturia website, double-click on the file. Then all you have to do is start the installer and follow the instructions. The process should be trouble-free.

The installer puts MIDI Control Center with the other Arturia applications you have.
In Windows, check the Start menu. In Mac OS X, you’ll find it inside the Applications/Arturia folder
