Here is my latest track I spent a day and a half on it and I think the result is quite good, but opinions differ so listen to the track and tell me what you think.

It's alright, a tad one dimensional, the structure is good, but needs to be improved, 7mins is too long, 3 mins no more than 4,

Bass is on the money, the synth chords dont suit the track, just build it with the bass kick snare und hat, will sound well solid and should prick up your ears, start wiv bass then kick or hat, then hat or kick, then snare, drop kick or snare, drop all drums out, now support the bass wiv other stuff, drop da bass, bring drums in gradually, drop other stuff say last 4 bars or less, bring in bassline ad fin. Get some vox packs, add a some more samples.

You're capable but basic, need to define your sound, go for tech house as its most popular plus you will learn to cross over into other house genres.

Just need to improve the production and be more discernig and dont be too pleased with yourself, until you crack it, you're more than capable, but there is room for improvement, all down to you to find it, good luck man.

I don't mind a long track. These days, tracks are way too short if you were going for a radio edit 3:30 minutes at best. But if you're going for the extended version, I'd leave it a bit longer. I prefer the old arrangements, not all those fake drops and nonsense. And as for tech house, I've never tried it. I produce multiple styles, but not tech house yet. I'm usually more into the harder styles, but I don't feel like investing more time in it.
I thought that track was going pretty well, but your comment just shows it's not good. Maybe I'm not experienced enough. Maybe I shouldn't post anything anymore and keep it to myself. Hardly anyone comments anyway. Maybe I'll just take a break for a while. I've been working on too many projects lately. Anyway, thanks for your comment. At least someone is critical and listening.

You know what? It seems like I'm just wasting my time. Maybe I should find a different hobby. Cheers!

@MindCtrlDel, you've got talent, don't give it up again, take some time off and clear your head.

Leave everything as it is and rest, you're just having one of your bad days.
What you need is more self-confidence, not likes or dislikes.

It's not a waste of time, what you're doing is much more meaningful than you think, music is also self-healing.
It's not just a hobby, making music is a way of life.

Young people often have the problem that if something doesn't work out right away, they sometimes give up immediately.
So you should try at least three times.

The best advice really is, don't post tracks for feedback because rarely it will be what you actually want to hear.

Everyone's got a good idea of how they would have done the track differently, or what you should have done, but at the end of the day, it's your track, it's your creative process/journey, changing it just because you think someone else knows better than you is kind of pointless, and not really self serving.

So, if you're happy with something, post it, don't necessarily ask for feedback on it, cos it's in most cases with total strangers on a basically anonymous forum, unlikely to be completely positive, and whether that puts you off or not is only down to the thickness of your skin. By the tone of your last sentence in your last post it would seem that you are disheartened slightly, which I'm sure has defeated the purpose of your post.

I never ask for feedback anymore because, I've been doing the shit for 20 years +, and as well as probably having heard it all before I'm sure I don't give a shit about people's opinions on my music anymore :bleh:

Anyway, keep it up, it sounds aight

I dig it, gives me some nice Perry O'Neil - Myst vibes, kinda stuff you would find on various Global Underground compilations.:disco::thumbsup:

Great song, nice rich bass, relaxed tempo. Where's your YouTube channel? Come up with a catchy artist name.

I don't have a YouTube, SoundCloud, or social media account. I don't care for them. I prefer to remain anonymous, but I do appreciate it when someone appreciates my tracks, even if they're not top-notch. I've let my friends listen to them, and they all say it's a good track, just a bit too long. I made another hard techno track today, but I'm not sure when I'll post it.

It's a shame that you're keeping your music from the rest of the world.
Of course, I respect your decision and wish you all the best on your journey through life.

Yes, don't worry about @L-D's criticism! He was just giving advice to make the track into something HE'D like, which seems to be something that follows rules rather than something creative and personal. While it's not a style of music I listen to much, I liked it!

Well here's my second attempt, I listened to the advice and changed a few things, tell me if you hear the difference. I've figured out what I was doing wrong all this time with my master bus, and not just my master bus. Now the track also sounds good on my phone with maximum volume without distortion.

Great class, very good song, 6:57 good work, imaginative, especially the bell sounds I found very beautiful.

I shortened the arrangement a bit, changed the percussion to fit the track better, and at the break when the pads start, the lfotool immediately had its full effect, which I now blended in quietly.
My stupid move was to use too many clippers.
I used standardclip, but that's a single-band clipper. I moved away from that and started using a multi-band clipper. I also had standardclip on the master, which was a stupid move because I ruined my high frequencies. I discovered that never use a single-band clipper on the master, get a multi-band clipper instead, and only clip your low mids, but avoid the high frequencies because that just sucks and ruins your mix.
And on the master i only put a mid side eq one low cut 20-25 hz then a multibandclipper after that pulsar w945 to boost the mids and the high and a l2 with tops 2.0 gain reduction.

What's the point of this? Five seconds and a rating? Are we all going completely crazy?

I defy anyone on the forum to make something that I would regard sounds 'new' in 2026, in fact. I'd give anyone on the planet all of my worldly wealth if they could.

It's all regurgitated several times over, but that's alright

in retrospect you guys are completely right . my mom always said the same thing. I don't know what hit me, but it was surely something more of my own than of anything else. i remember back in the 90's my friends and I would get the latest 45 of alt stuff and play them one after another.
some lasted only seconds.. .sometimes the seemingly harsh criticism of a minority can give the artist a chance to consider alternatives.
I've probably hit the bottom here with all and I may have mixed my own angst into the spin ... and what's more if I had listened a second time , I may have liked it. but...
If I offer a track here I don't want to hear it's great because I'm afraid it's shit. I want to know why it's shit and what I can do to fix it.

I don't want to be a vomit, but if someone told me that the first ten seconds of my song was shit I'd consider it seriously.
@MindCtrlDel sorry you are in line for all this my friend just keep on trucking. I only meant to say that the first 10 or 15 seconds of your track made me stop listening. I may be the only one.

to be fair, all of the genre is going to start in a similar way. I think what you're saying in not so many words, is you just hate techno. Which is completely fair enough :disco:

But at least give the main segment which I guess is the intended main part that's going to be listened to, a chance before you rush to slag off the intro.

It's kind of like, watching the first minute of the Shawshank Redemption, and then turning it off because the guy wasn't being befriended and narrated by Morgan Freeman, carving his way out of a prison and getting covered in sewerage fast enough. (Spoiler alert) It's a long film, give it a chance, it might be really, really good
