After a year that I bought this interface I tried to use it's RCAs in the back and I only heard very low mix of distorted/+whitenoise signal I thought maybe my unit is faulty but just searched online and I was not the only one having the exact same issue...
The thing is I tried in reason, FL and bitwig and windows control panel settings but same results
I read that each one of this I/o's are both in and outs and that was the weirdest part for me that I can't even configurate/routing them to work as in or out result is = same weird sound
Any information and reply would be very valuable thanks✨❤️

What are you hooking it up to? Fairly common issue is sample rate mismatch which can range from periodic clicking to full-on noise.

Also the cables are 75 Ohm ones (though normal RCA audio cables often work for short cables) so make sure you're using a dedicated digital cable.

 

It looks like an RCA jack, but it’s actually an S/PDIF coaxial connection. You need another device with S/PDIF to connect it to.

S/PDIF cables are one-way only. One cable goes from a device’s output to the other device’s input. If you want two-way audio, you need a second cable for the reverse direction, but you don’t always need both.

S/PDIF carries its own embedded clock, but you still have to set a clock master and slave in your software for a proper digital lock. No MIDI or external word clock cables are required for it to work.

If the devices aren’t properly clocked or connected, you’ll hear distorted static or low-level digital noise.

 

I checked the sample rate, I just used a normal RCA cable to my mixer

And as I found out the spdif on this interface is internally routed from main 1/2 outs

 

Yeah yeah , that's the actual point that was my first thought that my spdifs are actually stereo but I'm using mono mediocre RCA cables
So I can only use those ports with another spdif device 'specifically' and not using it as a normal in/out port ,right? I guess I get it a little what happend..
So I need to get those S/PDIF coaxial connection cables
And they are stereo on each single port...is this right?

 

- No No, you don't really need coaxial cables, the RCA pins inside its connector are not coaxial anyway.
Maybe coaxial works better over longer distances, but you don't really need them.
- Also, ONE mono mediocre RCA cable could transport a -stereo- S/PDIF signal just fine.
- S/PDIF is always stereo.
- You can't use both analog and S/PDIF at the same time. You'd have to choose.
- What you DO need is an S/PDIF input on the other end.
So a digital input on an amplifier, some motherboards also have S/PDIF inputs.
If you don't have such an input, you can't use S/PDIF. Yeah?
