I read your request, why don't you start a new thread yourself? Start it and don't wait for someone else to do it for you.

Because I'm new to Linux and I would make too many mistakes as a beginner. This should be done by someone who knows Linux (and transition from Windows to Linux) better.

This is very true. Windows 8.1 plus a start menu that also switches the giant turd that was the phone-GUI to the Classic GUI is really an improved Windows 7.

Before I switched to Windows 10 I used it for quite some time

Said the same here few times, maybe it was just my hardware, but 8.1 was amazing on it, had 7 and 10 on different drives, used 7 on same machine for years, 8.1 was the best experience I had with Windows. Just recently stumbled upon this video, so yeah

thats the video i was refering to.

yeah 8.1 was awesome, as i got new notebook in 2018, i couldnt find a working 8.1 ISO, so i went for win10 and yeah got used to that, but i guess i had used win8.1 probably longer if i had found an ISO back then.
i think i adopted 8.1 in 2014? used win7 i think for like 5 years? briefly had vista installed in 2009.

for the moment being, win10 feels very good for me now ... i know my ways around and it works fine here.
