Currently 3 episodes into Small Prophets. Written by and featuring Mackenzie Crook (who wrote and starred in the brilliant Detectorists series).
Small Prophets also stars Pearce Quiqley (played the terrifying Gospel John in The Gentlemen), Michael Palin (Python), Paul Kaye (Game Of Thrones).
Whimsical, magical and great fun.

Nazis capture circus freaks who have special powers to help their war effort. Thankfully it's nothing like X-Men. It's dark, fairly violent and beautifully shot.

Loved the rendition of Radiohead's 'Creep' by the six fingered piano player.

 

There's also a reference to Thom Yorke's 'No Surprises' video scene.

Havoc​

Just watched this...a low budget affair albeit with fantastic acting and an excellent story...meh music but it worked.

28 Years Later - Bone Temple
Top notch zombie stuff. Very violent. The Jimmys showed an obvious link to Jimmy Savile with their blonde wigs, tracksuits and bling. The leader of the Jimmys also said he was the son of Satan. Surprising that they used 3 Duran Duran tracks in the movie but they fitted well. Radiohead's 'Everything In It's Place' is perfect. Then there's Ralph Fiennes miming to Iron Maiden's 'Number Of The Beast' is brilliant!

Again, a zombie movie but nothing 'run of the mill' here. Good storyline (it's not all about the zombies). Really enjoyed it.

I am 40 minutes into The Mountain (2018) and unless there's a really bad curveball this is a great movie. Not much dialog, not much is spelled out.

I found this is a really exceptional movie.

 

Getting good mileage from Peacock for whatever reason. Lots of 80 and 90+ tomato ratings. Not used to that.

I've always enjoyed Sherlock Holmes movies, stories and series but the new amazon series version is pure bastardized crap. I watched 3 of the 8 episodes and gave up just pure shit. Intelligent story scripts true to the era, characters and language are almost nonexistent in movies today.
