I imagine a plugin that generates MIDI. In front of every synthesizer, sampler, even an AI plugin, there is a network connection to a solid laptop capable of hosting an AI model trained to function as a "musical assistant." To generate MIDI, chords, melodies, drum patterns, and so on, it would be enough to simply tell your AI assistant by voice what to create, in which style, how intense, what mood, what structure... Something like a "DAW jukebox." The human, the creator of unique and unrepeatable content, would only need to know how to adapt their AI assistant to their personal needs through linguistic commands. Technology has finally evolved enough to free us from the dreadful effort that separates desire from realization.

The Dude (and others) is a carefully crafted character by the Coen brothers, who by the way, are well educated.

The ironic thing about these sort of plugins, is that they actually can teach you, contrary to your belief. I have forever been a self taught musician, by ear. I have been working as a full time producer since my early 20's without really knowing what the hell i was doing. Just playing whatever sounds right. Once these sort of plugins started popping up a few years ago, i actually started to learn different chord voicings, how to play more scales other than triads in major and minor etc. Ive always been a visual learner, so while I would record the midi from Scaler, I would open it up, look at the notes, and then mess around with playing melody on top. Doing this enough times that I became much more knowledgable in music theory. Im no expert, but I can carry myself much further than a few years back.

Sergio is a legend! He did a big thing at the Hollywood Bowl in 2021 or 22. My friend got us great seats, such a fun night. He brought out quite a few people all legends in their own way.

I had a difficult time learning harmony and relationships in the beginning. I read a lot of books until I found one that taught me the way could understand. What worked for me was to play and analyze songs I liked. I'm also self taught and used to play much more than I do today.
If it works for you and OP, go for it! I'm sorry if I was rude (I am sometimes...)

And THAT is why I said you were almost the OPPOSITE of The Dude.
He was always cool, and not rude.

This was also one of my problems in learning music tech, I also read a lot and have watched tutorial, but sometimes it just snaps, like you realize, this is how it should be written or presented. We all learn very differently.

Funnily enough, I also just found my holy grail of hardware controls - the "Mute" button!

During playback, if I hit that button, all the horrible atrocious noise going on stops, and I'm left with glorious, professional-sounding commercial-grade silence.

I compared this silence with the professional silence you get in pro studios, and it compares really well!! I maybe need to EQ it a little around 400Hz, and let's face it we're never happy with the bass end - in my untreated room, it's really hard to accurately judge the silence below about 60Hz, and referencing in the car doesn't really help.

Anyway, really happy with the results. (I just now need to get the LUFs right up, but I think there's a plugin for that...)

One annoyance: The installer dumps the product vst3 folder into the main VST3 folder (as MANY do) instead of using a vendor folder.
OK, but it also dumps the uninstall files there. WTF :dont:
