i been using CC cleaner since like windows xp days.. but recently the new cc cleaner messed up my windows
my audio drivers got broken and corrupted without any reason when i cleaned the pc with cc cleaner.

does anyone know an alternative software for cleaning junk files?

I use https://github.com/builtbybel/CleanmgrPlus and https://www.bleachbit.org/

In BleachBit preferences, enable the "Download and update cleaners from community (winapp2.ini)"

For Google Chrome, do not enable LOGS or it will conflict with some extensions.

And do not enable "Update uninstallers".


BleachBit can be too destructive(specially for Internet Browsers) and may clean too much!
So, better first create a System Image.

- Create a bootable USB flash drive.
- Boot to the USB flash drive
- Go to Programs WinPE>BACKUP AND RESTORE>Macrium Reflect 10

- Create an image of your current bootable drive.
(will need a big enough destination drive to save the image)

 

I dunno what you're trying to do here, but for those moments when I just want to clear temp files and browser caches without having to do it manually I reach for Wise Disk Cleaner. Simple enough for me.

That's because any of the NEW versions of CC are garbage/mal ware. I have been using CC for years and I still do - EXCEPT the updating and internet access for any/all parts of CC are turned off/denied. Do not run any version of CC that isn't "© Piriform Software LTD".

I have found that v5.5 is the oldest version that will run properly on Win10. Older than that you get win compatibility garbage preventing it from running. v5.5 is Piriform and I run it on all my machines WITHOUT ISSUE. Do NOT use any version newer than v5.5. Just make certain - NO UPDATING, and NO NETWORK ACCESS for it period. Also I would recommend NOT using the "REG Cleaner" on any of these "cleaners". All I have ever used CC for since I been using it is for the Secure Erase, The Start up editor, and the programmed cleanup wherein you assign areas for it to remove junk buildup that other programs leave piled up. That' s it. Turn everything else in the settings OFF. You don't need it.

To be perfectly honest, I would recommend 0 updating and 0 network access for ANY of the so-called alternatives as well.

My favourite all in one cleaner is "ZHP Cleaner" (MajorGeeks) it's a free tool
It looks very weird but it really does some magic finds & eliminates malware, fixes registry bugs
It's very good as a yearly deep cleaning tool
Daily I use the very simple "DNS Cleaner" it's just a batch .bat file so it's only a command to reset/flush my DNS
Other one I use daily or every 3 days or so is sordum TempCleaner you know it removes everything from appData/bla bla bla/TEMP
They are just one click tools so you run it and it's done because they execute commands in the background
And ofcourse for uninstalling I use REVO uninstaller removes every leftover traces from registry/empty unlinked shortcuts and so on
Ah yeah I forget there's a very good background app which lowers your system latency to the lowest so every time you click a website link or you click on a new Youtube video it makes everything start faster there's like a slight delay in milliseconds everytime you click with your mouse & Windows reacts so it lowers this delay this tool is ISLC (keeps your DDR RAM buffer clean when you close a software etc) and gives you a much more faster/snappier Windows experience faster execution webpages load faster etc...it boosts your system/eliminates lag caused by default Windows 10/11 settings
My PC is very snappy and clean all the time

Wise Disk Cleaner .

You may want to get the portable version.

Extract to "a certain/any folder", put that folder where you want.

Run it 1 time. It will fill the config.ini file. If you want/need, you can then edit that config file manually with the notepad =>

I occasionally use CCleaner when I'm lazy, but I use an a old version, unlike the newer ones which for years now deleted necessary files on you.
I use v3.24. but you can get any version from here:

just take your pick but stay under v4 .
