Rufino del Carmen Arellanes Tamayo (August 25, 1899 – June 24, 1991)
was a Mexican painter of Zapotec heritage,
born in Oaxaca de Juárez, Mexico.

The painting is Women Reaching for the Moon
(original Spanish title: Mujeres alcanzando la luna)
by Rufino Tamayo (full name: Rufino del Carmen Arellanes Tamayo),
created in 1946. It is an oil and sand on canvas work,
measuring approximately 36 x 26 inches (91 x 66 cm).
The composition features dynamic, stylized female figures—one prominently
in vivid red—reaching upward toward a glowing white circular form (the moon),
set against a textured blue-green background with
geometric fragmentation, starry trails, and cosmic elements typical
of Tamayo's modernist style influenced by pre-Columbian art, Cubism,
and his interest in universal human aspirations.

Rufino Tamayo's legacy in the history of art lies
in his oeuvre of original graphic prints in which he cultivated every technique.
Rufino Tamayo's graphic work, produced between 1925 and 1991,
includes woodcuts, lithographs, etchings and "Mixografia" prints.
With the help of Mexican painter and engineer Luis Remba,
Tamayo expanded the technical and aesthetic possibilities
of the graphic arts by developing a new medium which they named Mixografia.
This technique is a unique fine art printing process that allows
for the production of prints with three-dimensional texture.

It not only registered the texture and volume of Rufino Tamayo's design
but also granted the artist freedom to use any combination of solid materials
in its creation. Rufino Tamayo was delighted with the Mixografia process
and created some 80 original Mixographs. One of their most famous Mixografia
is titled Dos Personajes Atacados por Perros (Two Characters Attacked by Dogs).

so for this one, i just looked at the picture and played stuff in my studio till it matched and i felt like i was adding too it. its really a great painting, its so soulful, abstract and atmospheric, i feel like i captured that essence and created like a companion too it. i love what i did with the drums especially

i asked my girlfriend if she would drop some wisdom that matches this, for the ladies. she got on the mic, said what she wanted, i recorded it. this whole production process was just a vibe, appreciate it
