Wow. Thank you for bringing this to my attention @Crinklebumps. This might be the best tool I have ever used. Old piano recording: worked. Ripping a lead from a BT trance song: test worked. Indian Classical/Middle Eastern stringed instruments: 75-80% perfect, with just a bit of work needed (needed to use it at the lowest sensitivity as well). Gets the drones sometimes as well. Spectral mode is great. It has struggled with a few really complex loops I threw at it... But that's okay since it is meant for single-instrument recordings. I am actually blown away by this. All of my terrible out-of-key voice notes can now be made into synth melodies and choruses. Screenshot below is of my recovered gospel recording that was done on a VOX nearly 6 years ago... Amazed it is able to transcribe the velocity this well. All I had to do was mess with the release velocity a bit. upload_2026-2-7_18-54-45.png

Prism by Aurally Sound is incredible! I tried it yesterday with a variety of complex audio, and it nailed it every single time. It’s fantastic, better than any other tool or DAW I’ve used. Kudos to Aurally Sound!

This really fills a gap. Until now you had to go to paid AI services to get decent audio-to-midi with vocals

testing it on dry piano pieces, is not really a show off. Melodyne is already good enough with that example.

usually the problem is that, when things are not dry, then it was hard to transcript to midi.

another idea is maybe to stem split and then do audio to midi with the stems?
    maybe also deverb the stems?

Hi, I'm really interested in that. :)
I've tested it, had some bad experience, but I'd have it anyway in my tools.

Audio to MIDI from separated stems is where already are before this plugin. It doesn't really seem to be doing anything much different than what we already could do. Maybe it can save you bouncing one extra file. The detection does seem any better.

hmm i im using stems splitting and do the rest with Melodyne. It does work very nice for me. (only a few cases, where its still to difficult for me to find the correct notes)

Maybe we will have at some point true audio to MIDI?

I had distorted piano recordings and I can now use them. Just used one yesterday and it was so on point

I compared it to Melodyne (my go to for this kind of stuff) with a stem separated piano chord progression that was quite bad sounding. I could make out the notes in both programs, Melodyne had few overtones as extra but otherwise both were pretty spot on. Have to try it bit more but at least in this instance it worked well. I tried also with stem separated guitar chord pattern and again it figured out the notes well. So it's really good but so is Melodyne.
