I recall watching a video of White Sea Studio where he mentioned sending two different masters to the client, one was of the customers liking and the other one focused solely on "Spotify" (named that way, clearly oriented to all major streaming services). It seems obvious, but when i watched that video it was a new thing for me.

Wytse, the owner of the channel, said something along the words of "Do what the cliient wants, but offer an alternative that they can compare to", if the client enjoys the loud one, well, let them have their 24bit hamburger just as they like, you can achieve that with a lot of plugins nowadays, eg; CGII, Stealth Limiter, Master Plan, etc.

But, if they like yours, you can have a client that notices the difference and learns to hear detail. Ofc, needless to say it's not always like that, and it's also risky, the client may think that you're doing whatever you want or maybe that you're simply turning down the volume mindlessly, if they're that dumb, which happens, sadly.

You should join to the same challenge that my avatar/profile picture shows...

But yeah, you can push it as far as you want, but when it gets played at streaming platforms, it will be turned down anyway, it's better to have a loudness that allows you to have dynamics that will actually make the music sound louder when the loudness is normalized with the rest of the songs of a playlist among other artists. My favorite streaming platform is Apple with its loudness standard of -16 integrated LUFS <3

I also suggest to use the program Loudness Penalty, so you and your clients can visualize and hear how the music will be normalized when being played with other people's music.
