hi,i still have cubase pro 8.5 installed even though i use 15 pro now.
is there any way of using some of the 8.5 stock plugins like compressor,studio eq on 15?

Have you tried navigating to where the 8.5 stock VST fx plugins' *.dlls are installed? Then copy and paste them into wherever your new 'working' VST plug-in folder is located. I used CUBASE in early 2000s and this method worked - with WAVELAB's plugins too. Try it.

 

hi,thanks for reply, in the cubase 8.5 folder there is a folder "vst plugins" but that seems to be non vst 3 plugs studio eq is vst3.
in the vst 3 folder within cubase 8.5 folder there is a "cubase plug in set" file.
would it be possible to get the non vst 3 version of studio eq?

 

Although I cannot remember what the plugins looked like in 8.5 I'm presuming they are VST2.
Do you have the VST2 button selected in VST Plug-in Manager? (see screenshot)
Is this the same Studio EQ you are wanting? (see screenshot).
Also check the blocklist

I know r2r unlocked quite a lot of earlier plugins because Steinberg didn't like these ones:

 

Hi,that's the newer version of studio eq,it's an older one different gui in 8.5
