Did two versions. One is darker and the other has more groove and beat. I want to finish working and then record a singer live on one of them. Currently vocals are generated to give an idea. My singer has a voice palate similar to these (vocals are generated from her sample).

What do you think? Which direction should I go with?

I think I don't like either. Just sound too artificial. No substance, originality or emotion, just routine.

So actually the first one's music is produced with Cubase, using mostly Maschine, Scaler, Kontkat and some Waves stuff. I messed around with some ideas and actually asked Gemini to give me some chords and arrangements within the key to explore random directions (I do EDM for 13 years now and it's kind of repetitive so I need something fresh).

I also loved Lorde first years so I analyzed her work and lyrics and came up with some lyrics and flow.

Since I wanted to also hear the track with lyrics I generated them (yay AI) and added all together.

Then for a second version I actually used Suno (bad me) and uploaded the track to get a different version via its remix option. This is the second one.

Once I have a solid track choice (according to your opinions!) I can go ahead and record a live singer (and let someone else mix it as I suck with vocals) or of it's the second version to actually build it from scratch.

It makes sense, someone proficient can exploit the full potential, and this sounds like the right way to do it. This is also scary. It does sound good tho, mix is also good, clean, tight.

The whole process from that angle seems like the right way to do it, progress is faster than usual, having more ideas, not getting stuck.

I remember trying dance production for the first time.
I watched a tutorial back in 2010s, where he suggested taking a track we like and break it down in the daw to parts.
I did it with party rock anthem and then with an Armin track. It taught me so much about arrangement.
