Talk to me like I'm a five year old, lol. Computer arcana I don't understand. IOW, K.I.S. (keep it simple). After being alive this long, my brain is filled and no longer has the capacity for jumping through hoops to complete an operation.

I understand debrid downloads at premium speeds without a RG account, yes? Or do I need jdownloader... does debrid allow to load multiple links for simultaneous downloads itself?

I get, say, real debrid . I get jdownloader. There is a post on the sister site with something I want that has, for example, 5 RG links.
Now what do I do to get those 5 links to start downloading? Step1 step 2, etc. Appreciate you

Enable the clipboard monitor in Jdownloader.
Copy the entire group of links on the peeplink page (for the correct operating system, format, whatever). When you copy those links it will automatically add them to the monitor, check online status for each file to make sure each part of the release is downloadable, etc. You can copy multiple hosts at that time and the monitor will show you details about the ones you have selected. It bypasses even opening RG pages or any other service like it, not just the captchas.

It will pop up a little window on the right corner of your monitor, and then just go from there. It's simple. Once you have files added as links, you can decide what to do with them. It's much more obvious when you have some links loaded into JD.

It's a pretty deep program for "just a download manager". But it can be very easy,

Thank you. I made an acct with real debrid but haven't bought a subscription yet. I keep reading about that and jdownloader on the forum and decided to look into it because there a whole bunch of instructional vids showed up on sister site and to do it as a freebie download is too much to bear, lol.

What does real debrid do download wise? Why do people pair it with jdownloader?

 

Debrid services are basically bandwidth resellers: they buy premium accounts on hosting sites, then let multiple users download through them at full speed. People pair Jdownloader with Real Debrid because Real Debrid push out updates for Jdownloader. Your premium account info sticks no matter what they have to change behind the scenes.

Well, that and because of all the features of Jdownloader besides that. It is a very deep app for "just a download manager". You can create scripts, like with a torrent client. You can have it auto-download, auto-extract, move files, and so on. It can be very fast, allows multi-threaded downloads.
It makes a torrent client feel like 2000.

1. You need a Premium account from them.
2. Go to Jdownloader’s settings and under Accounts (or something similar, don’t remember), add your debrid’s Premium account’s login info to the correct provider. Make sure JD says they’re correct (green).
3. Make sure you’ve got clipboard compatibility active, it’s a checkbox somewhere. Then you can paste links straight into its download page.
4. Now you can paste and download premium file provider links (note: the ones the debrid service supports, like typically RG), like you would subscribe to them. No need to recycle them through the debrid website / service.

If you don’t have a super fast internet, it might be worthwhile to limit the number of simultaneous downloads. That way JD will only download 1-3, for example, even if you start 10 of them - it will queue the rest.

When I paid for the subscription, immediately a page came up with a small box at the the top with what appears to have my premium acct #.
Below that is another big box that's titled 'download'. Then there's an option to install a firefox links generator plugin.
Below that, it says 'enter your links here' (into the window below that)
Below that it has an enter password (optional)
At the bottom are two buttons... 'unrestrict my links' and 'reset' (reset is self explanatory)

Was under the impression Debrid was an application to download. What am I supposed to do on this page before doing anything with JD?

Btw, I read something about you can torrent with JD? You also used the word torrent. If debrid can be used to torrent, do you need a vpn on top of it or does debrid hide your IP itself? Think I read something about that as well

I'm on Mac and I use Opera as my browser. I do not currently use a debrid service or have JD installed. The Jdownloader Clipboard Monitor is a feature inside JD, not a plugin for your browser. Someone using Firefox will have to answer about that. Look in the JDownloader help topics for the Clipboard Monitor. It's on the user interface of JD somewhere, but it might not be all that prominent of a button or menu.

You can use Real-Debrid for downloading torrents. You need to find the magnet link from the torrent tracker, and copy it as a file location URL (from the torrent site, not your local hard disk). You then paste it into the Real-Debrid website. It is a specific page on the RD site. Once you add the torrent, their server will go fetch the torrent and download it to their servers. Once they have completed fetching the file/s, you just download the torrent's files content from RD website like you would any normal download.

You do not need to use VPN to get it to work. You may still want to anyway, if you even can. RD is basically covering the privacy aspect, because you never connect to the torrent tracker or peers to download anything. (aside from getting the magnet link location, of course).

Some debrid services allow you to use them as a seedbox. I noticed that All-Debrid did the last time I used it. I'm not sure if Real-Debrid will let you seed files from their servers. But it will definitely download torrent content to them.

I/m on Mac as well. While I use Opera on my pc laptop, I use Firefox on the mac. The extension is apparently for generating links that would go into that window on the debrid page, not JD. What all that means idk.... you simply put your RG links in there? If so, why the 'generate need? Generate what links if not? And how does it relate to using JD? No clue

I'll search to see if there are any clear, simple instructions using debrid and JD together on YT. But first I asked here to give me some basis for understanding.

Ugh what a headache. Have to be a computer scientist to work this thing, lol.

I kinda got somewhere. I opened the accounts manager. Found Realdebrid in the list. Clicked on it and it generated a string of characters into the username. I then figured to put my debrid pass in there. That worked apparently. That opened up a page in my browser that asked me to
choose a name for my device (computer). I made one up and then eeeeeeeehhhh name doesn't match my debris user name. Well why did it ask me to choose some random name then instead of directly asking my user name.

I put in my username, then a page in my browser opens telling me I need to install the jdownloader firefox extension. It asks for permissions to everything. I was wary but did it, then it asks to 'be able to record my audio and screen'. Now I'm WTF does it need to be doing this shit and I shut out of it all. What a PITA.

I just simply wanted to grab a bunch of stuff from sister site before links die. I should just have gotten a months access to RG instead. Downloading would be just 'click' and done, lol.

I bought 90 days so maybe by the end of that I may finally googled my brains out enough, spend days of hours enough, to find out how to work it w/o it having access to everything.

Edit: bought a month of RG. Oddly, first it asks for my name & addy. All says optional so I skip to next and do my cc. Does it's thing but then a page comes up saying it was declined. Probably cuz it;s international and I didn't put my details in.
So I go back to buy and do put my stuff in but then it tells me I already have premium. So I try one of the RG links and I'm getting high speed. Go figure

you don't need the extension, it does stuff you're not trying to do
make sure clipboard monitor is on and just copy links to your clipboard.
they should appear in JD2's linkgrabber and you can just 'start downloads' from that tab

If it didn't tell me the supposed random name was supposed to be my debrid username, I wouldn't have gotten stuck the second time around when it threw the having to install extension in my face, lol. JD's GUI text is so tiny with so much info and choices what you want it to do, is exasperating, lol.
I'm grabbing now with the RG acct before links die. This way I'll be realxed to have more time to figure jd out. I'll try what you say

You could set it up in 10 minutes if you already know how. With the FFS used on sister site now, you'd save that the first day of using it; and that would just be on timers that ublock does not kill.
