RAM Disk / RAMDisk ?

    Maybe they can convert a delorean into a time machine so you can go back to 1990.

    Maybe the major hard-drive manufacturers would not agree, as it would increase the longevity of their physical storage mediums -_- thus losing sales $_$

    that suggestion sounds “clever” until you understand how an OS actually works.

    That's what Solaris has been doing since 1994 and also a lot of Linux distributions do today by default, e.g. Debian since version 13. 50% of RAM are used here as a "RAM disk" to increase I/O performance, reduce SSD wear, and speed up temporary file handling.
