    First off it's not a estimation.
    The graph the manufacturer provides is the plotted frequency response on one of their microphones of that type.
    1 will be tested in each batch as a quality control. If it matches their previous graph then the microphone works as inteded.
    Any change shows somethings changed in the production.

    The graph cuts off at a frequency because they didn't test it beyond that frequency.
    A lot of companies send their products to a 3rd party for testing so it shouldn't supprise you most of the graphs cut off at the same frequency.

    What happens beyond that point, know one knows without testing.
    You could test it to find out but it's normally safe to assume it continues to taper off at the same angle as it was previously dropping off at.
