@cs15flac .. I believe that Moondog (Louis Hardin) wrote his music and poetry in braille and was translated and printed.

Thank you also for the kind words.

A bit late to the party and can only hope that the Gods be kind .

    What She Said

    Alien:
    History will remember me
Not just the things I've done,
    Too those I've brought along
Destiny looks me in the eye
Tells me I am the guy,
    A winner every time

    Alvin:
And then I remember Mira said,
Alvin try and taste the freedom that's been denied

    Alien:
Pigs shall fly across the sky...
My law, if I so decry

    Alvin:
Silently starring back out to the crowd
Soon the time to run afoul,
    Strip away this rancid shroud.
    The moment stunned to silence,
    Inward burning I the flame.
    Bones, dust of my tomorrow
Can only hide my coward's shame

And then I remember how we cried endless nights,
The life drained from our happy lives

Your pigs shan't fly across the sky
Your lies, we cast your lot aside

Now sadly I'll live another life
    Without Mira, my wife
Or my toe head baby ginger
    Donna

It's been an interesting ride this round for me to find the odd and tangential connections in order to come up with a musical answer to my conundrum...how does one piece together the supplied contest foto, the amazing but true origin story of a woman, my sister's best friend who was adopted at birth, my neighbor's daily violin practice, my abduction at five years of age by what we call "aliens" and my family's farm in West Virginia long since sold away years ago? Ha, be a bit crazy I guess and just roll with the madness to see where it leads.

I won't go hog wild and write the long forms story which could most definitely rival War and Piece for brevity but will list some of the highlights with only tidbits of information and let you to fill in the blanks to your own satisfaction. The song is an alternate history version of the true events I'll cite below and will link an interview that Donna gave during the time of the release of her book about this whole sordid affair.

Donna's birth parents were Alvin and Mira. Alvin, although con man and near-do-well was already married with a slew of kids but had an affair with Mira which led to her pregnancy. Alvin concocted a scenario which faked Mira's death by drowning and them collecting $39,000 from two different insurance companies to enable them to run away to Spain and live out their lives. It didn't pan out that way. The police bugged their phone calls suspicious that Mira's 8 month pregnant body was not found and the fact that she had supposedly passed within weeks of the policy. Alvin went to prison and the prosecutor I guess understood that the naive pregnant woman didn't piece the plot but rather it was the criminal who was the mastermind. Mira gave up her baby for adoption at birth and didn't see Donna again for decades until after Donna's adopted mom passed. Donna finally found Mira and they had a relationship until Mira's passing.

The song melds Donna's story with the Fluxxus photo and wipes any blame for bad decisions and Donna's not growing up with Alvin and Mira, giving it up on their alien abduction from their West Virginia farm in 1933 while on their way to church, newborn Donna to meet the local community for the first time as well as to be baptized that morning.

They are held prisoner, their bodies in a state of stasis so that they do not age and are only "thawed out" when the aliens want to experiment on them. The family is continously in a state of twilight, their bodies inert but are connected mentally and can communicate with one another. Although Donna's body barely ages, her mind has matured and is as an adult in the year 1966, 33 years that they've been captive.

The experiment the aliens foment involves setting up Alvin in front of that building on Spring Street, NYC along with that old suitcase filled with dried herbs and homegrown produce which were meant as tithe for the preacher of the church for Donna's baptism. Alvin has his fiddle which he played along with the sung hymns and too in order to jam afterward with others from the congregation after services. The string loosely tied around him is a taunt...he was free to escape if he so wished, but in that event his girls would be killed. Mira and Donna were tired of living in the hell of their existence and ask Alvin to flee, their own lives extinguished. Alvin of course cannot fathom the though of any action that could imperial his family, but as the moment presents itself he thinks to what Mira asked of him and walks away to try to begin a new life in this the future.

The alien is full of himself and has made promises to the family that they might be freed at some point, he positioning himself as an important scientist. He threatens them to succumb to his will and that not following his demands would be met out with punishment.

    So now you know!

The intro is all about hope and happiness, then the alien ship hovers above and we hear the animal's perspective. Then the body of the piece, after, a sad epilogue and finally a fantasy outro.

This is it...only a Dropbox as Whyp is on the fritz and won't let me upload.

Thank you, @Lois Lane, for your wonderful, vibrant, and fantastical story and the impressive song with its intro, lively animals, and your heartfelt vocals and lyrics, so full of life experience. At the end of the glorious piano playing, the Mozart within truly awakens!
