yeah! it can really be useful for this sort of stuff. It can also be terrible, giving you information from version 6 of the software, when its on version 12, etc.

 

ChatGPT can solve many problems, only without emotions. LOL.

When you upload images those chats lag, and they will also limit how much you can actually ask it.
There's really no need to upload images at all.

You should send it a current plugin inventory and hardware inventory as text, and tell it to save it. Then it will tailor answers to what you are really using. If you tell it to switch to Candid or Professional mode, it will give a lot better, useful results. It gets rid of all the conversational sycophant garbage.

 

That sentence says a lot about the intellectual decay of some people. They claim, and I quote: "Looking it up in the manual would be tedious and time-consuming." Wow, what nonsense! It's pretty stupid to ask the AI instead of looking in the manual where the truth is. Thanks for your post; now I know for sure that some of my fellow humans aren't functioning properly anymore.

You can load the manuals into NotebookLM and it will only reference them. It's essentially an AI for your own source material and it works very well.

I am not against AI at all, but this kind of tech shouldn't be rushed. We should test it, tons of testing, see how it goes first, and certainly not invest trillions into data centres and deprive PC users of their RAM and SSDs. Rather let people play with LLMs so we could learn even more about it. That's how I thought it would play out...

What they're saying sounds reasonable. The world out there, with its investors and the constant competition among large corporations for market share and dominance (America vs. USA), is ruthless and inhumane; it's called predatory capitalism. Because greed devours reason.

 

Now, we're going to use it to read software manuals for us. The original first post in the thread showed how we can learn to export an MP3 file from Magix Sequoia by uploading an image to ChatGPT. Fair enough, if you have a synth and need to check some obscure detail in the MIDI implementation, look up CC#'s, how it handles NRPNs, or play it safe burning a new firmware. But any user of audio software still at the "better read the manual first" skill level complaining about AI is laughable. It's not AI's fault the best use someone can make of it is what buttons to push in a program. No matter what DAW it is. I say this jokingly, but there are probably 100 youtube videos for each one.

The problem with AI for now is that it can't fix stupid.

How did people solve problems or acquire expertise before AI existed? They either asked friends or forums, contacted the manufacturer, read the manual, or watched a help video on YouTube. As you can see, humanity as a whole managed perfectly well without AI.
