The Reason Rack is now available as a standalone offering for use in any DAW via both a perpetual license and a subscription. Reason DAW is now offered at a new lower price, Reason+ subscription has been expanded to deliver additional value.
These updates reflect Reason’s continued evolution following its acquisition by LANDR, with a focus on expanding access while preserving the creative tools creators value.
Reason Rack is now available on its own for $199 as a plugin for creators that already have a preferred DAW and just want more affordable access to Reason’s 60+ iconic instruments, effects, and modular workflow.
Reason DAW is now available at a new, lower price of $299 (down from $499), making its powerful, full-featured production environment more attainable for a wider range of creators.
The Reason+ subscribers will receive additional value at a lower annual price, consolidating creative tools and services that were previously accessed through separate subscriptions. This expanded offering includes professional AI mastering, global music distribution, a library of over 3 million samples, more than 20 plugins, and AI-powered tools such as stem separation, vocal restoration, and sample adaptation. Together, these additions bring production, finishing, and distribution tools into a single subscription designed to support creators from idea to release, without increasing cost.
Known for its diverse instruments and effects, analog-style rack, and deep sequencing workflow, Reason continues to focus on empowering artists to find their unique sound, through tools that enhance creativity without abstracting or automating the creative process...

It's cool to see the rack available as a vst, but LANDR core business principle has been of devaluing everything they touch their grimy hands with. I feel bad for Reason users, their DAW might not exist in a few years from now.

With this new concept and the new business idea, they have the chance to generate profits again and win new customers.

cool idea to the Rack as plugin now for 199USD. hopefully this helps Reason a bit. Should have happened earlier. I was never interested in picking up Reason+ -- the DAW, when i only wanted the Plugin.

On the other hand its really desparate step.

What I like about Reason are the players. They are truly creative and powerful tools. I would love to use them all in my DAW. But I'm not sure if they are worth $200. At the same time, I can't think of anything else that could replace them.
