Why do you love music? - Why do you make music?

Everything is easier with music. I can't imagine life without it. Music is an integral part of my life.
Music never gets boring. There's always something new to discover and play.

    For all those reasons.
I'll add for mental health as well. I always use the analogy of working out... I'm not trying to become Mr Olympia, I just enjoy it and it makes me feel good.

I always liked music. I remember reading some research that affinity to music is in good part genetic, so that would be the why.

Why do I make it? Because I like making the things that I love. I enjoy the process. I make music for myself, ignoring genre and guidelines. Some day I might release something into the wild, but I don't have a need to do it, nor do I expect to gain anything out of it.

Music makes everything much more deep for me. I listen to music, almost all my days. I use it for work, to elevate ... to get a flow.
Or sometimes also to get me into a different mind set.

I love to process of creating new sounds, see what i can make with source material.
Its a bout exploration, finding new things, try new things and eventually other people will like what i am doing
Sometimes its also a way of expressing a feeling -- an emotion ... work it away, with words, which have flow and leading to a melody.

I started to like music because of my father (he always had some music on) and then school friends that liked music.

Playing? I remember being marvelled by seeing some friends/a neighbour playing the acoustic guitar. I started to learn together with some school friends at 12 or 13.

Then I was in a band as a teen, and this helped my sociability with girls lol.

I started to compose and then buy gear to help me compose and record with a friend. Apart from guitar gear (guitar, pedals, fx unit) I also enjoyed an Alesis Sr 16, then a boss dr 5 groovebox, and a Tascam portable 4 track studio. Until today I see and like gear and software just as if they were toys.

Playing with software/hardware, exercising on the guitar etc. is like meditating for me - I get into another state of mind, which is rewarding by itself. I have been in some bands, now and then I play live (last time was in November last year), but what I really enjoy is messing with software and a little hardware (to compose, sound design, or just play, listen to, relax and trip with the sounds).
