Lifetime Achievement Award for the minds behind Logic and Emagic

Back in the 1980s, Gerhard Lengeling and Chris Adam garnered significant attention with their Creator and Notator programs. These applications set new standards for MIDI sequencing and notation on the Atari ST and quickly became established in professional studios. This development work later evolved into Logic, a music software that combined MIDI, audio, and arrangement in a flexible environment.

Following Apple's acquisition of Emagic in 2002, Logic Pro was developed and has become one of the world's leading DAWs. Many of the fundamental Emagic concepts remain part of Logic Pro and are also found in other Apple music products.

The award presented at NAMM underscores the international significance of Gerhard Lengeling and Chris Adam's work, as their ideas and developments have not only set technical standards but, more importantly, have fundamentally influenced the creative process with MIDI and software instruments.

Antelope Audio announces the Discrete 8 Oryx (Synergy Core), a new audio interface positioned as the "heartbeat" of the studio, featuring improved A/D converters, 64-bit AFC clocking, and mastering-quality monitor outputs (130 dB dynamic range). For recording and band tracking, it offers eight discrete preamps (up to 75 dB gain) plus four independent headphone outputs with crossfeed, as well as a 26x38 I/O setup with eight DC-coupled line outputs (D-Sub 25) and two switchable reamp outputs.
