Sonnox, Fabfilter, Soothe, EW Stuffs, Soundtoys, Sylenth, Raum, Serum, Nexus, Pianoteq, Scuffham, etc.
To me, they are serving many purposes. It can be frustrating when companies don’t follow through on their promises and leave customers feeling deceived. … such as Audionamix; their IDC is good, actually.

From the moment i purchased them these have been utilised on almost every project. Many of these are simple and fast to use and i just don't need extra features.

Fab Filter Pro EQ of course

Valhalla - Supermassive, Room and Vintage

    Wavesfactory - Spectre

    Kilohearts - Distortion

    Cableguys - Shaperbox and Halftime

    U-he - Diva, Bazille or Zebra 2

    Youlean - loudness meter

Came here to say this! It has barely changed in over 20 years (aside from being able to load scripts and change skins) and is still the best drum synth out there. I'm sure some people prefers Sugar Bytes DrumComputer or other drum synths, but most people would definitely go for Microtonic.

    surprisingly few if any,
I mean, problem is older plugins were made in certain era, optimized for certain constrained computer hardware and DAWs,

looking at the past, XLN Audio and Overloud aged up well, but I don't really use them anymore,
I switched DAWs and OSes from Sonar+Windows to Reaper+MacOS so can't take that as workhorse stable (pun intended) either,
on the other hand Fabfilter keeps redoing their plugins, so from that perspective Pro-Q aged literally terribly when there's Pro-Q4 by now already,
and then there's the whole licensing thingy, I'd rather use TDR, Klanghelm and Analog Obsession plugins that are free, which means zero licensing compatibility problems at all by design, but I wouldn't keep them using just because of that,
it's actually funny to think I treat software as a very disposable thing overall :chilling:

Cubase 1989 (they invented VST plugins, after that they created VST3 SDK without Steinberg we wouldn't have any 3rd party plugin)
Waves Renaissance Bass (Waves R-Bass) 2002 (still today most of the big producers are using it nothing beats it's low end magic)
Sonic Charge microtonic 2003 (still for example keinemusik using it)
Novation V-Station 2003 (I'm still using it today it's so simple & presets are very good)
    Sylenth1 2006
    xfer Serum 2014

nthing MicroTonic. It's still absolutely stellar and it has been constantly improved (or just kept up to date) for 20+ years. And it has the best easter eggs in business.

Diva, Waves L2, and another big microTonic fan, Cubase stock for EQ and compression. Have loads of other stuff but, would be happy with just that TBH.

Not to exaggerate, but I don't think I've launched a session without using Adaptiverb since the day I discovered it, almost ten years ago now.

There still aren't any alternatives to what it can do, and once you're bit by the bug it's really hard to go back.
