Which VST or stock plugins have truly stood the test of time, remain relevant, and are worth the investment today? Which ones have—or could have—timeless value, exceptional quality, or a unique feature that keeps them indispensable? I’m not asking about recently released plugins that are popular for one new feature, but about real workhorses that continue to prove their worth over the years.

sylenth1 (not v3), using since winter 2008, NI Massive since summer 2007.

    V-station since like 2004

I like working with them, they still have that minimal mindset and very usable GUI.
And they still create wonderful sounds.

Older Waves Stuff like the C1, Renaissance bundle, Maxxx Bass. All the stuff that Michael Gerzon was behind is still very useable..Waves went to shit when they no longer had Gerzon as a consultant and they went all in on quite frankly, shite black models of analog devices

Sonnox Digital. All over 20 years old now, older if you consider a lot of the algos are from the Sony Oxford Digital OXF-R3 digital mixing console, but still some of the best plugins around..Paul Frindle is DSP royalty

McDSP. Very useable plugins that don't really fight against you whilst mixing

Metric Halo. For similar reasons as McDSP

Old Line6 stuff sounds good in its own charming unbashedly digital way..wouldn't say they stood the test of time though like the plugins above

Soundtoys Bundle. Some of them are really old but for some reason they always sound good and I keep going back to them. It is weird, so old algos but they fit in the mix like a glove.

Nexus 2. Just sounds a million dollars. Bought it way back in 2010. I honestly think people will still be using Nexus 2 in twenty years.

    This☝

Also, PSP - I've the whole original lot (early bird), and I know they're not as sexy or surgical as FabFilter or Sonible, but their EQs, Dynamic Processors/Compressors... just keep reaching for them. There's something to be said for familiar tools, like analog outboard.

And my favorite, go-to reverbs: still Eventide. I do really love also the UAD AKG, AMS, EMT, Lexicons, and brilliant Studio room emulations etc - but Eventide reverbs just slip in the mix effortlessly every single time.

I don't know what kind of witchcraft PSP uses on their code but i gotta agree it's among the plugins devs that makes analog gear a little scared.

I would say zynaptiq (was prosoniq) - their plugins have been re-released over the years.
And waldorf plugins as well, still sound great.

For me, it has to be Reaktor. I've been using it since it was called Generator (and Transformator) and to this day, I still use it. Albeit the most current version
