I found these two kick samples on my hard drive, and they're perfect for what I need (2000s hip hop, club). There's something about these kicks that makes them perfect for this sound. I can't really describe it, but they just hit hard.
Which sample packs should I buy that contain kicks like these, or how would you recreate these kicks ?

    Thank you

Okay, okay, how could you recreate that? I wouldn't want to build things like that every time. I'm actually looking for ready-made samples, simply because it's faster when producing.

Creating your own sounds gives your music originality and authenticity. Using samples that everyone can use contributes to making your music sound generic and bland.

Checking out the Kick2.wav sample, D16 Punchbox is great for making kicks like it using your ears, instead of a zoom tool and someone else's sample. For only samples, the MPC60, SP1200, and the Linn60 from Mars all have dirt, club, color types of samples. All of the Drum Machines from Mars are nice, but surely you already know which machines you really need from all the extras you don't. Kazrog Kclip3 and that's all.

Wow, Ey clone Thank you so much for the tip about the Punchbox. I didn't know anything about it, but I just checked it out and it looks really promising. Thanks, my friend!

Hey my friend, you can find this “STOMP KICK” on Splice. Also, there are plenty of stomp kicks in the KSHMR and OLIVER packs. Good luck!!!

A solid kick + a layered stomp sound with some short stereo room 'verb. Boz Digital has a plugin called "Das Boot" that's handy for creating those foot stomps.

Not asked but they also do one called "El Clapo" (I certainly hope they're not paying anyone to come up with these names) for those times when you want to do a low rent version of We Will Rock You. But seriously, that also works layered to add some space to a tight snappy snare.

That’s certainly one approach. Another is to not waste your time screwing around creating the “perfect kick”. Just pick a decent sample from your library, and then spend your time where it actually matters - writing the song.
Making your own kick is no protection from your music sounding generic and bland.

yes and no. it's perfectly fine to use existing samples, trick is to layer/blend multiple of them your own way to get unique results

It is still a disproportionate amount of the energy in your track. In many genres and also for mixing purposes, it is the anchor. You can either get it right, and the rest of the low end falls into place; or you can ignore it, and the track can feel weak no matter how good the other parts are.
A placeholder can be ok, but when you go that route instead of just deciding on one to commit to; that is how a lot of people end up in the endless tweaking trap.
