I've just been packing away the latest S!-R2R and realise there is Content as well which is HUGE
Is this content all samples or + plugins ?
Can it be operated without the content?

The "content" is mostly loops, some effects plugs and synths. S1 will work fine without the content installed. You'll likely find different opinions on the quality/usefulness of the content. For me personally, I've not found it that useful and since I'm struggling for disk space lately I was thinking of removing it as it does take up quite a bit of room. But I'm sure there are some here that will tell you they can't live without it, so in the end its up to you to decide how you feel about it along with how much disk space you can give to it. Main point though, like I said, S1 will be fully functional without it.

 

It works very well even without

 

After installation, go to

C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Studio One\Sound Sets

and simply delete the "Presonus sound sets".

 

There is a certain advantage in having premade sound variations for the instruments , although their integration is not a great reason to use any of the presonus soundsets considering all the goodies on the sister site.

I'm genuinely really pleased that you reminded me about this. I've been using S1 pro (legit) for many years and I've never used a single S1 soundset or any S1 content in my music. It's just been sitting on my SD for years doing nothing. Delete time... I do love delete time!!

 

In this folder, you can also get rid of unnecessary files:

C:\Program Files\PreSonus\Studio One 7\Extensions

Extensions are not needed for daily use; delete what you don't need.
