    Nice.
It has some sentimental value to me, as its from one of my mother's favorite movies, and she has passed away.

Happy New Year, my beloved forum comrades! Let’s all hitch a ride on this Intergalactic Portal of Good Vibes to try and build a better world, 'cos honestly, living on Earth these days feels like playing Dark Souls on hardcore mode without a single health potion!

Sandy Denny my favorite folk artist dead way too early at 31, these 2 tracks hold a very special meaning for me, she was in the Strawbs for a short while but was a restless troubled musical soul who played with several bands and Artists. I just had to own her complete discography on CD. May not be the cup of tea for most of you today, who consider folk music outdated, but then the Shrewsbury Folk Festival always being sold out says different.

Thanks, PulseWave, although WRT your video (haven't yet played it), you write that we don't always hear things perfectly, which seems contradictory, yes? I mean, is a tuning fork pretty much tuning by ear?

It's cool that you've played for so long.

It depends. If you've spent nine hours earning your living in a noisy environment and then drive home through traffic, your hearing certainly won't be at its best. Experience shows that it's better to be well-rested or to listen to quiet background music before, for example, playing music for an hour.

If you play and listen to an electric guitar through an amplifier for extended periods in a practice room, your hearing will also suffer. That's why professional musicians always wear earplugs to prevent permanent damage to their hearing. That's why breaks are so important. You probably know this from mixing or mastering: your ability to judge a sound diminishes after listening to it for a while, and you can better assess the song after waking up the next day.

The thin E string is most likely to break for beginners if they misjudge the pitch by an octave. Incidentally, the most frequently played string is the G string. That's why an electronic tuner is very helpful.

As you get older, you should also have your hearing tested by an ear doctor, because some frequencies simply disappear.
Then you'll have it in writing, and you might need a hearing aid at some point.

I hope I've been able to motivate you a little. Of course, the decision of whether or not to learn guitar is entirely yours.
The guitar used to be the most popular and widely played instrument.
