the theory or hypothesis is that they try to advertise their cloud products heavily through windows 11. Thats why they keep making it harder to create an offline windows account (its stupid, since there is still people, who have offline computer, but those are not important to MS anyway).
Meaning they marketed 22% and 40% of their revenue through 10% of windows.
Also a reason they put so much AI into windows 11 ... at all costs even if it slows down the system or nobody asked for it.

The other thing we already discussed above, imagine they could write 90% of windows code by/with copilot, how much resources, they could save.
But it has proven many times, that the code is bad, lots of bugs, no meaningful and clever code, also slow, if it even works.
I dont understand how they keep pushing this? But my guess is that the normal Kevin and Karen wont care ... as long as there is a new windows version ...

As we pointed already out, the trend MS goes shows an end in some way:
Total dependence on cloud services, all data in the cloud, every feature supported by AI, remove essential features, show ads -- AD ID, windows is a huge ad plattform, even you paid for it -- you buy a new computer with windows installed, you pay around 100€ for it, so that you can enjoy ads in various.

I think i might have to make a list, with plugins which run on linux or even have a native linux version.

I can see having fun with bitwig on maybe ubuntu studio.
These are my thoughts, which i got from a few youtube videos ...

ubuntu studio is a good starting point. I also saw fedora jam suggested - it's like ubuntu studio, but based on fedora instead. would not recommend to a total beginner, but when you feel confident and comfortable, it might be a good option to consider.

not all of them, but the absolute majority. that's what you use yabridge for.

again, most of them, but not all. that's what you would use wine for, my suggestion would be to use bottles to manage them.

Eliminate Windows ... by using Windows softwares on Linux, and loosing countless hours trying to make that Frankenstein pile of sh*t working.
You are so funny guys ...

If there was a Windows edition without all that Bullshit MS packed it with, i would install that one.
There was a windows version called G Edition, which was full of everything. It was rumored that it was for goverments only, e.g. china.

You completely misunderstood the reference but decided to meddle in the Linux thread once again. Once more, you just can’t peacefully pass a Linux thread that doesn’t interest you without trying to use some irrelevant ‘wisdom’? So, who exactly is funny now?
Cmon move on. No one is encroaching on your right to be an ID for the Microsoft advertising database.

I've read this thread whatever you think mr clever.
And ppl are speaking about using Wine, Bottles ... and so running Windows softwares.

I'm a 50 years old computer tech. I 've seen Linux birth.
And since then, ppl like you tried to convince other ppl to "jump in wagon", pretending Linux would replace Windows soon.

It was in 1991. I was 16 years old and already using computers at home and school.
We are 34 years later ... and Windows still rules the home computer world.
I've tried countless times ... and it ALWAYS s*cked big time for audio.

That's what i call a fact check from a computer tech who started using Linux 30 years ago.

I don't advertise for Windows, because i'm not sectarian, unlike YOU
I just use tools working or not, and Linux DON'T work for audio, like Android don't work for audio.
Due to a lot of factors.

It never worked right, and it is not going to work right.
If it was so easy, it would have been done for decades.

Side note : Android first release is 2008, audio support was crap. And still crap 17 years later compared to ios/ipados.

That's a fact. Live with it, or just run in circle with others sectarians pretending "one day, Linux and Android will replace Windows and Apple IOS OSX".

PS : i'm out ... until i jump in again just for the fun of seeing ppl running in circle for nothing

"If I tweak just a little more, run some more PowerShell scripts, this'll be fine for another 6 months."

The proverbial frog getting slow boiled to death.

"I can take another 15 degrees. It's not that bad. There's still some flesh on my ass bone. I'm not all red down there yet."

... is what you said 50 degrees ago.

Maybe people have simply grown used to the decades of ever increasing abuse - it's just every day normality by now.

You are fifty years old spesialist, and you still don’t understand what was written just a couple of posts above. I didn’t claim anything, nor did I recruit anyone, yet you labeled me a sectarian anyway. You even felt the need to attach a picture to “prove” it because you understand how empty that label is. :D Ill open you a secret I love Windows 7 :)
The position of a noble observer looking down from above is especially funny you really think you’re some kind of superior specialist.
You once promised to leave in another Linux thread, but here we are again, arent you tired? Its a mystery to me but can you at least explain to yourself what drives you into this inquisition-style crusade against Linux discussions?

Do you genuinely see this as a fight against some kind of “sectarianism”?
Maybe it's time to stop tilting at windmills and focus on something more useful.

The win10 chinese govt version was actually the opposite - all the spy/junkware OUT. I still have it around somewhere. But the entire thing is coded for chinese - like EVERYTHING. Even with language files it's fucked up for those not learned in chinese. You would be way more ahead just installing a third party superlite version. Using superlite as a starting point it's really not hard to build a version of WIN10 that's not a piece of shit. Was hoping someone would take that chinese version and make it usable in english, but never saw anything like that come to the surface.

The funny thing is no one needs to become a corporate shill by running the winOS. It's laziness, carelessness, stupidity and or complacency that makes a user of the winOS a shill. Not much more... So you can switch to linux and forever be janking around with the linux system trying to make it work like a windows system to run the wares everyone else runs, or jump on the apple bandwagon that is decidedly worse than the paltry windows ads, or spyware (which can be dealt with fairly easily by the end user). With apple you've got a closed loop system (hardware and software) that doesn't allow (or makes it very difficult) for end users to do anything that apple considers inappropriate.

Of course, you’re stating rather obvious things. Most users will never do these kinds of manipulations; they aren’t even aware that such problems exist. But you really shouldn’t take polemical jokes so seriously.:)
