I just got it working with Johnny's exact instructions that I had quoted. It was my own user error actually >_<

 

Getting it open and "working" is not the issue. It's like Serum 2. There will be more revisions.

 

Yeah when you open finder and use "go to" and enter pathway like ~/Library/preferences you see your users and username below, So when WE directed you ~/Library/App Support etc, this should have been automatic. Wierd, now that you fixed it, lock plist ofc, if you didnt,


SO to all with issues the pathways are User -> Username -> Library -> Preferences and or Application support. Both last named is in the Library.

There is a normal Library as well with preferences folder that's the wrong folder... But if you enter in go to: /Users/yourusername/Library/

You should be in hidden folder,

Otherwise open finder any tab.... go to the options at the top should be archive edit etc you want to click on go then when dropdown menu appears hold down left option on keyboard and you will see library pop up and vanish if u let go of left option... Needless to say you hold option go to Library and your'e in the right folders now, and can apply the instructions.

Fast course is to delete all Omni.app, vst3, AU in plug-ins then in hidden folder, that has with omnisphere to do, and spectrasonics. Search Preferences for omni and spectra in those folders, delete.
Then
Give Read and write priviledge to Application Support and Preferences in hidden library.
This is so you install and files end up where they are supposed to be. And also to work proberly when installed, only lock net.spectrasonics.v9.plist

Install, codesign, open omnisphere APP i did this instead of in DAW, activate, close, find net.spectrasonics.v9.plist lock it. in hidden lib / Preferences

MOVE steam folder to /Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics/ <- STEAM

Open terminal sudo chmod -R 777 one space drag new STEAM folder. Enter.

Now all should be good to go. you, can also give full disk permission to used DAW and Omnisphere.app if you have timebomb or presets not loading when closing project and opening again... But given Read and write to correct folder should be enough, but i had issues first so giving full disk permission in settings / integrity is ok and in some cases needed. idk rly but no danger to it.


Nice that you figured out. Wierd that the little ~ <- /Library before ~/Library didnt work. But full path is as above... /Users/yourusername/Library try go to ~/Library <- copy this and see if the path shows underneath the searchbox, atleast it does for me.

Yeah i said about a 100 times, give apps and folder READ and WRITE priviledge, only lock .plist file.... people cant read... lol..

I have Omnisphere 3 fully up and running, however when I open Omnisphere, I get this error message: "Unauthorized Sonic Extensions effects detected, they have been disabled".

Does anyone know how to authorize Sonic Extensions for Omnisphere 3?

 

You can try and download them and install them, they are on another web site, or multiple. But yeah install them. For me it worked both reinstall and move folder.

 

The Omnisphere.component plugin exists at the correct location, but cannot be loaded.

Restarting your system may resolve this issue.

 

Codesign in instructions, and it will work.

 

@ gravykente have a look for Omnisphere Library on SisterSite...... Read all the Comments which are related to Omnisphere 3 or Library.

ahh yes, i wrote an edit, he PM'd me and i helped him out. Can only refer to siter sites in PM only so even if he reads all comments he shouldn't find it, but most people know which site i'm talking about.

ALSO there is a comment here from a user who used AudioZ version and got Bob Moog library to work, i recommend my version, but you can always try the audioZ one also, basically a fresh install and read and write priviledges is key.

Hi everyone,

I've downloaded de R2R Giuseppe v3 version, and followed every step for the installation as JohnnyBoy023 posted. I've also downloaded the library from another torrent (60GB).

Managed to activate the app.

But when I open the standalone version, I get this error: Data properties file not found for Omnisphere. A possible explanation is that the installation was not completed properly (Omnisphere patch data needs to be upgraded to version 3; review installation procedure and install the version 3 data).

After searching a lot, I discovered this error is because these files are missing in the STEAM folder: Omnisphere.v3.data Omnisphere.v3.index

I really don't understand what am I doing wrong, and why these files are missing.

Really appreciate if anyone can help, as I don't know what else to do.

 

Notice: Data Properties File Not Found

If you are receiving an error regarding Data Properties when you open your instrument, this may indicate that you need to install the three updates (only two updates for Stylus RMX) from your user account. A quick way to resolve this is to open your instrument as a standalone application and click Get Updates on the left side of the screen. This will take you to our Smart Update page that will tell you what components need to be updated. Click the blue Get Updates button on the Smart Update page to download your customer update package.

After the download completes, run the installer from either the Mac or Windows folder to update everything. If you are on Windows, make sure to Extract or Unzip before running the installer.

Here is an example of the error you may see:

If you are receiving any errors referring to Audio Units, first make sure that the .component file for your instrument is showing up in this location:

Macintosh HD/ Library/ Audio/ Plug-Ins/ Components/

If it is present, restart your computer and this should resolve this issue.

 

The only reason you are getting AU error is because you didn't codesign correctly, install codesign tool in terminal

xcode-select --install <- just insert enter password enter
and wait
and read instructions again.

This is only for Mac, and if you read correctly you shall not have any issues, if so maybe OS is old, im on Sonoma, and it worked on the version before Sonoma i dont remeber the name lol, recently updated, DO NOT update to Tahoe as it's to new... usually there is a lot of problems with newly released Mac OS's.

EDIT: You also need to remove all spectrasonics products, move stylus etc to a backup drive, remove everything as instructed, this is in hidden lib, plugin folder, hidden lib appsupport etc
it should all be in the instructions, you do a new install, codesign, activate, lock plist.
Move STEAM folder, you need to DL guiseppe version and his link to STEAM folder from the other site where you get it. I cant name the site as its forbidden, but i can in PM.

You need to codesign VST. VST3. AU, and the Application in apps.
Then you can activate your product, etc, just read instructions 1 by 1, read it twice. Good Luck.

Im on a m4 mac mini with Sequoia 15.6.

I did the this steps for all vst, au and vst3

Copy the STEAM folder to the hidden Spectrasonic path (Library/Application Support/Spectrasonics).
Change permissions to read and write STEAM folder with terminal code sudo chmod -R 777 (leave a space and drag STEAM folder and press enter)
Codesign both the application and the AU and VST3 files by opening Terminal. Type these commands one at a time, leaving a space at the end, and drag the files (APP standalone, component and VST3) (very important!!)
sudo xattr -cr
sudo xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine
sudo codesign --force --sign -
As soon as mi kids go to bed I will try everything from scratch. The only thing I don't understand is the Stylus.

I will try again and let you guys know, really appreciate the help.

This is a different product from Spectrasonics; replace the term stylus with Omnisphere 3!

 

You should get a copy of Sentinel: https://github.com/alienator88/Sentinel. Or search for Sentinel on Sister Site.

And a copy of Permissions Reset 2: https://ohanaware.com/permissionsreset/.

They are GUI apps which handle xattr/codesign/gatekeeper and all file/folder permissions issues.

You will have to run Permissions Reset via Rosetta 2. That doesn't matter, all it really does is handle terminal commands like the ones you are typing above. These kinds of apps mean you do not have to type commands in Terminal, so they are faster for you; and they also rule out the possibility of typo errors in command syntax.
