    ^^ What year was that?
    ____
(Placeholder video deleted, but if you're curious, it was Hot Chocolate's 'You Sexy Thing')

^^ This is a placeholder video, while I try to remember the song I'm actually thinking of, where I kind of like it (well, mostly the outro with synth I guess from about 2:30 onwards), although the dancing, etc., in the video is totally dorky or in today's lingo, maybe cringy... but that's half the fun. So bad it's good.

    :D

    Ah, here it is...

They are exercising their vestigial wings.

Don't know much of anything about Idol, except this one, whose backing female vocals ('eyes without a face', sung in French, which I never knew until this year) helped make the song.

Is that you? If so, do you think your cat likes or understands the music for what it is? Like, somehow responds to it in a way that's obvious it's the music and nothing else?

Also, at 6'4", are you ok with little friends? Like if someone was 5'4", say, would you still hang out with them and, for example, go grocery-shopping with them for a nice meal back home of macaroni and tomato meat sauce with grated parmesan? Or do you prefer those of a certain height, more at your level?

    Whaaat?
How 'granny' are we talking? 60? 80? If they are under, say, 75, send them to me. Well, maybe older, but on a case-by-case basis.

BTW, I have songs for Grandpa just upthread.

As a fan of both 8bit chiptunes and Maurice Ravel, this gets my wholehearted endorsement. Absolutely brilliant.

No thats not me in the video. :) Although I do like cats...

Yes I am ok with little friends lol, although most them are taller than 6ft. I have met little dudes who disliked the fact I was tall. They would get super competitive and aggressive when I was super chill with them. Napoleon Complex?

    Will do mate!

Ya, but you'll notice that you make a mention of your height, not that I'm making any judgement-call on it or anything like that. Just a point.

Just that it seems that taller people than average and shorter people than average seem to have 'chips on their shoulders' so to speak that society, or circumstances or whatever, placed there, through no fault of their own.

This seems to, ironically, fuse the two heights together in a kind of 'dance' (with the rest of the so-called height-normies looking on).
What do you think? I mean, I've heard of the Napolean complex accusation being uttered before, but if it's part of that 'dance', then is that Napoleon complex part of a larger picture that includes both height-extremes?

But what is it about us that is salient, right? What stands out?

Colour? Ethnicity? Voice? Style? Shape? Intelligence? Tastes? Age? Height?

You name it. What can culture isolate and/or maybe sometimes use against us or even to playfully/innocently poke us with once and awhile?

Anyway, while this song is a bit outside of my taste (whose lyrics may be partly sarcastic), it does remind me of the issue and I guess makes a point or two:

Oh ya, and makes me think of this song too:

Face it, folks, we can't win. They are not going to let us.

    ;D

I do make a point of my height, only to emphasize I had another passion which was competitive basketball.
And you might say well why reveal that in the first place? Everyone here is into music, obviously, i wanted to reveal something that wasn't music related. In other words, the revelation was quite innocent. :) But I get your point Sackbut

In my teens and 20s, I had a few fights with guys taller than me, there were a couple of bullies I had to deal with. But I don't usually have issues with tall dudes. Some extra random info for you: Didn't realize why one 6ft6 guy had it in for me, turned out his younger sister had a crush on me. I had no idea :rofl:If you were to ask me to tell you stories about altercations with short dudes, trying to prove how tough they are... ? Id be here for a while. Trust me, the napoleon syndrome is a thing, or maybe not and I'm just a dick

The Napoleon complex might be a thing, sure, but so are many other 'complexes', right? Complexes that generally appear to result from the many differences between people and how they are regarded and responed to over time. Again, if it's not about your height, then it's likely going to be about something else, some other, perhaps especially salient, aspect.

This, interestingly, nevertheless can suggest potential forks toward novel ethinicities and human evolution in general. And, as it is said, afterall, birds of a feather do flock together. So they do split sometimes, to form new birds of a feather, and so on...
